The picture used previously couldn't be a bigger spoiler for the movie it represents, showing Hopper being eaten by the birds at the end. There's bound to be a less spoilerish pic out there for this. Ideas?

When you pull a page image, link to it in the thread.

Here's the caption:

And thus is the evil grasshopper lowered into the mouths of the birds of hell.

^That might be the closest we get to a non-spoiler. Not sure if it fits the trope 100% though...

I'm not sure how it fits.

"The villain dies" is not a spoiler.

^^^So...you've never seen a work in which the villain didn't die?

In pretty much everything but comedies and movies for very young children (and a lot of times even there) then yeah, the villain does usually die in movies.

Also it's hardly the only page image to depict a villain dying. Last I checked, Disney Villain Death, Dark Reprise, Family-Unfriendly Death and Hoist by His Own Petard all did it too.

I'm okay with showing a villain dying, especially if it's one of an all-too-well-known film (or a cliche one) so that it doesn't surprise a lot of people.

Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!

I'm waiting for a high quality rip of Digimon Xros Wars, it has an explicit eating finisher in the latest episode.
