The is a thread where we can discuss any SE related games and news minus anything Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts related (seeing as those both have their own threads).

To start us off, SE will reveal a new project at the Penny Arcade Expo this Wednesday

Saga Frontier!!!!! Such an under the radar game. That is exclusive to a single console I no longer have...

As for other SE games...Dragon Quest is not bad. Not sure why it isn't more popular in the west though. And all of their western games absolutely blows. I wish they'd stop making crap like Mind Jack.

And also, Parasite Eve II will be released on the US PSN sometime this week.

Legend Of Mana is officially my favorite Square game. So beautiful and so much to do. I've found most of their other series (before and after) more fun to watch than to play.

I just remembered...Einhander was made by SE or something I think.

Squaresoft. They only nommed Enix post-PS 1 if I'm not mistaken.

I liked Dragon Quest IX...I hated Vagrant Story...the only Mana game I played (the one available for PSN) was boring...so was Threads of Fate. Uh, I dunno if I've played any other non-FF or KH Square Enix games.

I've been looking forward to the new Tomb Raider coming up ever since Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light got me reinterested in the series, and the rumblings of a new Legacy of Kain game has my hopes up.

Oh yeah! Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, and The World Ends With You are all great.

Also, the new Deus Ex looks interesting, but I don't think I'll pick it up for a while.

Apparently SE is making an interesting new ARPG. They are teaming up with some western developers. (Though despite this they are saying that they are not exactly meaning to target western audiences) and since its still very early in production (In fact they are still recruiting developers) it may be released for the Next generation consoles. The game is set in an Medieval-style fantasy world.

Looks interesting, but that artwork seriously invokes the image of Final Fantasy VII IN WESTERN EUROPE! Just compare it to the cover of VII.

I can't really say much about that aside from reiterating the 'miserable pile of secrets' observations from the article.

On another topic - anybody here like Parasite Eve?

A friend of mine had the first one back before I owned any consoles myself. I think I played ten minutes of it.

I did pick up The 3rd Birthday three months ago, and loved it until the end. As a shooting game it's pretty good though, once I started ignoring the plot. I wish it were longer; I only have so much patience with which to run through the same six levels.

For my part, The World Ends With You completely restored my faith in Square-Enix as a company, back when it first came out. It's track record since then has been less-than-stellar, but WEWY reminds me that the brilliance is still there.

Oh man, I almost forgot about Brave Fencer Musashi! Now there's a gem from the Squaresoft era.

Well, it was a charming and genuinely good game that was underrated and overshadowed in the wake of the PS1 era Final Fantasy craze, so...

And I forgot about Bushido Blade as well! D:

I really should play more Xenogears one of these days. I got about five or six hours into it and then got distracted from it, and that was a year ago. :V
