A nihilist and an existentialist are walking through the woods. The nihilist points out how everything we know and cherish amounts to nothing in the end. The existentialist agrees. The nihilist says that life, no, existence itself inherently meaningless. The existentialist agrees and then asks a question:
"...And?"
The nihilist cannot respond to this, as the philosophy only states what is, not what one can do with it. The existentialist states that everything may not have any real intrinsic meaning, but that doesn't mean that one cannot find their own along the way.
