Well It's not like we actually have much of a choice, I think that as long as our countries don't become strong and safe enough economically, we will never get rid of the Caudillo worshipping. Until that point we can only play our roles as citizens at best and pray our rulers don't choose to screw us over.

Despite the fact that, let's say Chile and Argentina are far more better than us economically people still kill themselves yearning for another Peron/Allende/Pinochet.

Sigo diciendo que el Paro Nacional solo destroza mas de lo que arregla, primero nos mata a todos de hambre que hacerle nada a Maduro y su combo. Terminando de destrozar lo poco que nos queda de economía solo les hacemos el trabajo por ellos.

Y todo el mundo sabe que lo mas parecido a una organización de supervillanos en el mundo actual es ISIS.

Una vez mas, el problema es que un paro a la escala requerida para sacar a Maduro funciona solo cuando el daño hecho a la mayoría de la población y a la infraestructura que les quedara a los siguientes es mucho mayor que el daño que sufrirán Maduro y su combo, y no garantiza el que no vuelvan. Muchos de sus ingresos provienen de la droga, que es un comercio que no se va a parar porque nosotros lo hagamos, y de PDVSA les viene el resto— si no se para PDVSA, que no va a pasar ya que reemplazaron a los anteriores trabajadores, a ellos les vale madre si nos matamos de hambre a nosotros mismos. Desde luego ellos no se tienen que preocupar de que haya algo en el mercado para no dejar morir de hambre a sus hijos mientras esperamos como bobos a que caigan porque nos estamos haciendo pupita.

Volver a lanzar otro paro es tropezar con la misma piedra, no funciono la primera vez cuando había mejores condiciones para ello y no va a funcionar ahora, bájate de esa nube. Y no me vengas conque no se paro lo suficiente aquella vez porque si que se paro, yo estuve ahí, lo recuerdo bien, y PDVSA hizo lo que pudo hasta que los botaron, y el pueblo no podía dar para mas sin degenerar en una orgía de sangre que dejaría chiquito al 27-F, a menos que eso sea lo que quieras (ignoro que tan seguro estés tu donde vives, pero yo no me hago ilusiones de lo que le pasaría a mi familia, niños incluidos, en una situación así), La resistencia cívica pacifica funciona contra un régimen minimamente respetuoso de los derechos humanos o al menos de las apariencias internacionales, y estas bestias no entran en ninguna de esas categorías. A lo mejor si la comunidad internacional tuviera las bolas de hacer lo que en su día se hizo con Noriega, pero hoy en día es un club de mutua ayuda de los políticamente correctos blandengues, mas interesados en guardar las apariencias que en ejercer presión de verdad, así sea con los últimos recursos. Por eso casi quiero que gane Trump, estará loco pero a ese si Maduro no le podría pasar la mano por la cara sin que le ladren en el mismo tono.

No nos engañemos, un paro a mega escala va a hambrear a la gente, muy probablemente termine en disturbios y en el ejercito matando a la gente (porque esos rastreros están en la pomada, primero te disparan a ti sin pestañear que parar a Maduro), y por ende quien lo convoque también va a terminar con sangre y muerte en sus manos aunque sea indirectamente. Si es por un bien mayor o ultimadamente por el bien de su propia facción política ya es otra cosa, pero esa es la triste realidad de uno u otro modo.

About the general strike, I remember this metaphor from somewhere: The state is a shepherd and the citizens the sheep. Normally the shepherd depends on the sheep for sustainment and it better do nothing that will make the sheep unable or unwilling to produce wool. In our case the fields also happen to be oil fields and the shepherd is too busy getting filthy rich extracting oil and has no motivation to keep the sheep happy, healthy, and wouldn't mind sending them to the slaughterhouse if possible.

Why did they suddenly start posting in Spanish?

It's not a sudden thing. It has been going on for quite a while, due to a general lack of interest from most OTC tropers. Besides, it's healthy that TVT gets to have small communities of people other than Anglophone speakers.

I follow this thread and can understand the gist of the conversation, but I don't have anything worthy to say or anything worthy of being posted.

I don't really follow this thread,I came here and saw people were speaking Spanish.

Venezuela es un país hispanohablante, entonces los venezolanos que postean acá lo hacen en su idioma, ya que total casi que nadie más participa en la conversación.

In english: since Venezuela is a spanish-speaking country, the venezuelan tropers here just post in their own language because almost nobody else joins in into the conversation.

Normally I default to English, but often reply to Spanish posts in Spanish.

If people are interested, I can set out to translate Spanish posts into English, as long as things don't get too big to handle.

I'm always curious as to what I'm missing with the Spanish posts but if I'm super curious I'll ask someone to translate.

I trust that if things go seriously even more to shit someone would post in English about it.

Also Fighteer, I know it's not what you mean but you post kinda reads like you're saying that hate speech in English is tolerated.

I don't think that was Hibiki Oni's intention, tho. He posted in Spanish often, and that last post was in English after all.

Re: Writing in Spanish- I'll write in English if I have to, but for writing about problems of our country that only ourselves are first-hand familiar with, I feel way more comfortable writing in Spanish and using our own jargon, much like I'd discuss things with my neighbors and colleagues. You surely would feel the same way about affairs of your own countries even if you happen to be bilingual, right? That's human nature after all.

Regardless, I'm actually Hibiki Oni was bounced off. We don't have many places to vent out freely anymore, and although the racial hatred went overboard, I can respect if not share many of his opinions concerning ways to get outta this mess. Is his a temporary or permanent ban?

Although he certainly went out of line, can't say I'm not bummed that Hibiki Oni is gone. Plus, he and I seemed to agree on a lot of stuff.

I guess I'm going to have to post more often to make up for his absence.
