Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

Not really. What do they have in common besides bonds with Spidey and other mutual friends? X Men can stand alone and be deep, to me.
The sad, REAL American dichotomy60's Fantastic Four would be nice. But really X-Men and Fantastic Four are at two different corners of the Marvel Universe.
Am I a good man or a bad man?Well Franklin Richards is a mutant and having the fantastic four set in the 60's would be awesome.
Also they could use a fantastic four and x-men to introduce the shiar and kree to the movies.
Also they can avert superman stays out of Gotham as well.

Place your past in a book burn the pages let them cook. The connectivity between the movies has been a selling point for the MCU so I could see them trying something similar with the Fantastic Four and X-Men. Wasn't Franklin Richards even (briefly) name-dropped during the computer sequence in X2?
In other news, apparently Doctor Who's own Noel Clarke tried to pitch a Black Panther script to Marvel. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JakeLester/news/?a=68186
He says he'd be interested in doing a Black Lightning movie for DC as well.
Franklin Richards was name dropped in X2 and it would be awesome to see a team-up between magneto and doctor doom.

Place your past in a book burn the pages let them cook.Marvel Studios is doing an animated Hulk/Iron Man team-up film. http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/10/04/iron-man-hulk-heroes-united-first-look-at-marvel-animations-debut-movie-exclusive/
Loeb raises the possibility that it might be in the MCU before Iron Man 3, but it'll be left ambiguous. They do mention they're certainly partnering their partnership after Downey Jr. and Ruffalo.

Take with a massive grain of salt, but the Daily Mail is claiming Marvel is looking at actresses for the role of Carol Danvers in Avengers 2.
While I'd definitely say be skeptical, it does seem to be common practice for Marvel to start recruiting actors before a hard script is even finished.
While just watching Avengers, I started wondering something: how destructive or menacing is the Hulk in the Cinematic Universe?
As far as I can tell, he's a little more menacing than main Marvels' Hulk, but a lot less so than Ultimate Hulk. I remember in The Incredible Hulk, the main thing that showed the difference between Hulk and Abomination was that Abomination went after civilians and innocents for fun, while Hulk never fought anyone who wasn't already attacking him. He's a little more wild in Avengers: him attacking Black Widow is the first time he goes after someone just because they're there, rather than because they're a threat.
I wonder how they're going to run with that later in the series.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I always had the impression that the only reason the Hulk lashed out at BW was because A) He was under the control of Loki's staff and B) Banner didn't really like her much. I mean she did sic a gun on him and have him surrounded by a soldiers.
Theres sex and death and human grime in monochrome for one thin dime and at least the trains all run on time but they dont go anywhere.Yeah, he made it pretty clear in the scene immediately preceding that he blamed her for bringing him there in the first place.
One thing I had forgotten while writing that as well - it's implied that Hulk, even in the midst of rage, had intentionally aimed himself while falling to the ground so that he would land somewhere without hurting anyone.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Really, the movie Hulk so far is a *lot* less menacing than any comic version, because he's consistently been of the "don't start nothing, won't be nothing" variety, with increasing levels of self control. To date, he hasn't had any "I'm gonna destroy stuff for the hell of it" or "I am selfish ego personified" incarnations. And here's hoping it stays that way.
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comIf they make another Hulk movie, they should include The Grey Hulk.
"You are never taller then when standing up for yourself"For some reason, I kinda want whatever Doctor Strange movies we get to use Character Name and the Noun Phrase for the titles. Not sure why.
The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit!Just so you can get in the nonsense alliterations?
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatHarry Potter, maybe?
Daniel Radcliffe for Stephen Strange!
Actually, I wonder how Alan Rickman might do. He's not enough of a ham, though.
The sad, REAL American dichotomySTEVEN RATTAZZI FOR STEPHEN STRANGE!

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Steven Rattazzi has the voice down, certainly, but that's probably not the best idea. It'd be like getting Stephen Colbert to play Mr. Fantastic...
Though I kinda like that idea...

Alan Rickman might make a good Baron Mordo, now that I think about it.
Danial Radcliffe as someone in a Dr. Strange movie would be awesome and hilarious.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. So, based upon what I know about him, Dr. Strange's backstory was that he saved the former Sorcerer Supreme from something, the former Sorcerer Supreme made Strange his apprentice, then passed the mantle on to Strange, right? Well, what if Daniel Radcliffe played a contender to be the Sorcerer Supreme's apprentice, or something like that, who got beaten out by Strange?
No. Really.
I mean, not like that was the joke or anything.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.^^ You mean, like Baron Mordo?

ophelia, you're breaking my heart
Would it be a good idea if Fox made the x-men and fantastic four movies into their own shared universe?
