Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

Well, that was sudden! I knew the show was coming; I just didn't think it'd be coming that soon. I thought it'd still take another year or two at least.
I hope this show is good. Marvel TV has been pretty hit or miss lately.
I heard to took the entire season for the Runaways....to run away.
Yeah. It's pretty different, but that doesn't necessarily make it bad.
The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]Runaways is alright but it's padded too long and there's other criticisms I'd rather save for when more people in this thread have seen it.
Anyways, Cloak & Dagger: CG is still off a bit and Cloak's actor can't act. He's so damn wooden in there, jeez. Dagger's actress is pretty good though.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Interesting video arguing why recasting Iron Man would be more difficult than people think.

Okay, but I don't want him recast, I want him gone. I want Tony Stark to be out of the picture (one way or another), and I want a different person in-universe to take over as Iron Man. Actually, I want Tony and Iron Man gone but I doubt that'll happen, so I'll settle for Tony's protege taking over in his stead.
We interrupt this discussion to bring breaking news about the upside down penis on the front of Wasp's costume. Fans point out that the front of Wasp's costume resembles a phallic symbol.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! You're not supposed to randomly dump links without some kind of description for it, that's against the rules.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I'm sure I've no idea what you're talking about, as I most definitely provided a description.

Huh, I didn't think that the actor of Tyron was in any way stiff. I thought he was deliberately acting awkward because the character didn't really want to go to the part but then decided to do so after all....which was confirmed when his friend turned up and expressed delight that he came after all.
I really liked this scene...there is a lot of chemistry between those two actors, and I love the little twist in the scene. Didn't see that coming at all. To be honest, it looks better than the Runaways so far. The dialogue is better written, it is better shot (but then, the darkness might help there), and the scene was way more interesting than the "oh, there is a mystery" BS. Can't wait to see more of the show.
Oh, and count me in as not wanting a recast for ANY of the characters in the MCU (except the immortal ones), I want the MCU to move forward and replace characters with young blood. I know, characters in comics don't really age, but I think it would be more interesting to see the characters in the MCU age naturally.
I thought Tyrone's voice actor was pretty good, too. He wasn't stiff, his character was just written as awkward and uncomfortable at the party, and he portrayed that very well.

He's been stiff in every other scene shown though, not just this.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Must resist urge to make Top Gun jokes, way too obvious.
But seriously, Brie Larson looks good in a uniform.
Do you have some sort of beef with the actor? We barely have seen anything of the show and as far as I know, this is the first complete scene we got. And he conveys exactly what his characters is supposed to be in it.
In the two trailers we've gotten of Cloak & Dagger, his acting has been incredibly wooden. I don't even know who the actor is, I'm just stating the case that his acting feels really awkward and stiff. Maybe he'll be better once the full show comes around, who knows, but I don't have high hopes for it.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Isn't that Cloak's personality though? I'm pretty sure that in the comics he had a stutter before he got his powers. I thought he was supposed to be reserved by nature.
The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]Yeah, I also read that as the character being awkward and stiff and not the actor.
More over he still manages to be engaging and interesting to watch while being awkward, so, I'm feeling really good about this show.
Does anyone else think that a Young Avengers movie is getting set up for Phase Four? There are some clues explained below that lend to this idea.
They have at least twenty films planned after Avengers 4, and that was before the Fox acquisition. They've stated that post-Avengers 4 movies will explore different locations and timelines. Some movies will take place before Avengers 4, some will take place after.
So where does Young Avengers tie into this?
This news is combined with the fact that a casting call was made for a set of two-year-old twin boys. In the comics, Vision and Scarlet Witch had two twin sons known as Wiccan and Speed. Considering the trailer has shown the two being romantically involved, there's a good chance they belong to them.
Also, keep in mind that the acquisition of Fox made a proper Young Avengers movie possible, whereas before it would have to be severely dumbed down in order to fit for legal reasons. Everyone talks of X-Men and Fantastic Four, but this is one thing that gets brought up less even though it's very much a possibility on the radar.
If a Young Avengers movie is in the works, and given all the time-travel and cosmic stuff involved, what would you think? Are you ready to have a youth-oriented superhero adventure with Patriot, Hawkeye II, Stature and others?
Don't read too much into the casting call. They like to use twins for baby and toddler roles so that they can shoot longer.
For all we know we get the "Pepper is pregnant" news next movie so that Tony Stark won't die without leaving the last piece missing from his legacy.

Just something I thought and I know I'm not the only one. They made it clear they want to utilize their full verse so I can definitely see it. I mean, it does match after all.
Cloak & Dagger starts June 7th with a 2hr premiere
