Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

I believe you meant March, not May.
Regardless, I don't believe that Disney's going with the meteorological definition here. Perhaps "Q1 2019" would have been more appropriate, but in any case, the point stands - the labeling appears to have been deliberate (especially with the other years using the same format), and nothing appears to have changed.

Oh God! Natural light! What's the film between The Last Jedi and Infinity War?
The one that's not Black Panther and A Wrinkle In Time?
I have no idea.

Oh God! Natural light! The inevitable Star Wars / MCU crossover?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Spider-Man might leave the MCU after the sequel to Homecoming.
No.
No. No. No. Nope. No. No! NO! HELL NO! No! No! I refu–! No! No!
Sony is in a very sweet spot regarding Spider-Man and already they're shooting themselves in the foot before Homecoming has even come out!
Dammit Sony, first Popeye, then Medusa, then the Emoji Movie, and now this?!
Just stop it.
Only acceptable if he's immediately replaced by Miles Morales, who stays in the MCU.
Don't worry. Money speaks. Plus, the current plans stink like Rothman, and I am pretty sure that it is only a matter of time before Sony replaces him.
She may have just meant it'd require renegotion. A deal like this between two studios is sort of rare so they probably didn't lock it in for a whole series of movies.
MCU exchange recut the trailer into a more spoiler-free version:
Current rumor is that Pepper may also be in Homecoming in some capacity.
I am not sure if I put much stock in a source called laineygossip.
I remember them having rumors for Civil War that turned out to be more or less legit. Though it could just be that they were bullshit written to be vague enough for anything to fit the bill.
They were correct on a few different key points: That the initial conflict would be sparked by a disastrous fight between the Avengers and Crossbones in Africa at the beginning of the movie (which hilariously, I remember several people on here telling me wouldn't be the case), that Black Panther was after Bucky, and that Bucky would be the main source of the conflict between the Avengers. The only point they were really off the mark with was speculation that Crossbones was after Bucky.

None of those speculations aren't things I didn't guess myself based on the trailer and promo material.
There is a detail of the Civil War, which continues to confuse me.
How strong is it supposed to be Bucky's arm.?
It varies between being weaker than Spiderman, Josef and Black Panther, to be almost at the same level as Iron Man.
So basically, you estimate that when Homecoming finally comes out and (hypothetically speaking) becomes the highest-grossing Spider-Man movie since Spider-Man 2, Sony might stop everything they're doing and heavily reconsider what they want to do with the Spider-Man characters?
Wouldn't you?
As strong as the plot demanded
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI'd hardly call Bucky's arm "almost at the same level as Iron Man". Assuming you're referring to his attempt to tear out the suit's big, glowing single point of failure - seriously, Tony, get on that - he was applying sustained pressure to pry through the panels of the suit.
The thing assembles and disassembles as sets of plates. The armor is made to tank hammer blows, not hold up against forced disassembly. Prying bits and pieces off of it rather than trying to punch through is generally one of the most effective tactics against him.
Tony's best defense against someone on top of him trying to get at the arc reactor is his Uni-Beam, and it more than handled Bucky's robot arm..

My Tumblr. Currently talking Dragon Ball and working my way back to Danganronpa V3.I don't remember exactly but the Black Panther rumors might've been before the trailers even came out, though it was commonly speculated since as early as he was announced that Bucky was involved in the death of T'Challa.
End of the day, this movie shows us that while the Winter Soldier may be top dog in the world of espionage and assassination, he barely qualifies as mediocre in the Avengers' ballpark.
He's the king of a hill who got stranded on a much larger mountain.

My Tumblr. Currently talking Dragon Ball and working my way back to Danganronpa V3.Of course I would. I absolutely would.
But then again, I'm not Sony.
If I was Sony, I'd give the greenlight for Genndy Tartakovsky's Popeye movie, give The Emoji Movie a big "hell no," (or at least a "give me a reason why we should do this and FYI, "because they're trendy" is NOT a good reason") and get a restraining order on Tom Rothman ASAP.
(Oh, and also strongly suggest Elle Fanning as MCU!Gwen Stacy.)
Good enough to kick the shit out of most people who are very talented normals. Out of his depth against people wearing what is functionally a flying tank, actual gods, teenagers bitten by radioactive spiders, a guy that can be fifty feet tall, an android powered by an indescribably powerful space rock, pissed off green dudes, and well the list goes on even if two of the people I included were not actually in the movie.

Meterologically, winter is December, January, and February. March is the beginning of spring (which is March, April, and May). Summer is June, July, and August. Fall is September, October, and November. Technically, in the Northern Hemisphere, the Vernal equinox (March 19 to 21st) is supposed to be the first day of spring.
