Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

Problem is, Danny was trained since childhood like Matt. So there wont be that big of an experience gap between them, if any.
They could definitely change the origin or tweak it. That's what they did with Jessica Jones (although you could argue that Jessica's origin wasn't important and was, in fact, a riff on pretty much every other superhero, i.e. accident + toxic chemicals = superpowers).
Okay. So a completely inexperienced Danny somehow defeats a DRAGON and gets its chi. Then he trains from there?

Or the show takes place before he defeats the dragon and the finale is him defeating the dragon. Much like Daredevil didn't get his red costume and wasn't called Daredevil until the end of the season.
I think people from each heavenly city can already manipulate chi without their Dragon. It's something probably learned at least that's how I see it with Gao. her palm strike was surely superhuman so now what from the iron fist lore can explain it? Then how would it contrast against someone obtains far greater abilities.
I'm really interested if they will create actual dragons or go for something less spectacular.
Also Danny's training involves a lot more extreme hands on stuff like punching rocks. Lei Kung trained him Kun Lun martial arts and by sixteen he was mastered them. He was so good he killed Shou Lao, which no one ever did before. Overall he had a whole other type of training by someone entirely different in a paranormal setting and for different reasons

Then the entirety of the 1st season would have to take place in Kun Lun.
I think they will simply work with flashbacks, just like they did with Daredevil and Jessica Jones. But first Luke Cage. I hope Jessica plays a big role in this one.
i would like to see The Capital Cities of Heaven arc get a spin. its basically mortal kombat
iron fist is so eccentric that it has to be handled carefully. how can they balance the other worldly and our realm? its the show that requires the most amount of world building

They kind of already started in Daredevil ("Stick"). I expect they'll further ease us into it in certain episodes of the other Netflix shows before Iron Fist drops.

I just watched a new interview with Tom Holland. Did they remove his mole? That is really convenient...I admit, I was wondering if they would be ever be able to sell scenes of Spiderman just revealing his mouth with such a distinctive mark right there.
And I finally got a good look on his hands...perfect!
Oh, and here is a small reminder how cool the females in the MCU are:

For the uninitiated, Fox just removed Fantastic Four 2 from its release schedule.
Remembering some earlier fan talk regarding wanting to see Mads as an MCU version of Doctor Doom, the news that Fant4stic 2 has evidently been given the axe, and noticing how they didn't really establish who Mads is playing in Doctor Strange, it just hit me a few minutes ago.
What if Doctor Strange is gonna have an Early-Bird Cameo of MCU!Doctor Doom before he became Doom and when he was still Victor Von Doom?
There are also rumors that we get something civil war related soon....
What do you mean? Like we'll get an allusion to the F4 in Civil War?
No, the Civil War trailer is coming soon, I think.

RDJ and Chris Evans will by on Jimmy Kimmel.
Hopefully it's the real trailer and not just a teaser. My only worry is when they did GOTG on Kimmel they made sure to specifically announce beforehand that that's what was gonna happen.
There is so little chance of that being the case that it doesn't even bear thinking about.

Also James Gunn unsurprisingly debunked the Captain Mar-Vell rumor.
I doubt it will be the trailer. But perhaps the teaser for the teaser. After all, we can't have simply a trailer nowadays, we first need to announce that there will be a teaser, than we are allowed to watch the teaser and then we get trailer for the upcoming trailer.
I am so proud that nobody even bothered to post it here. Bit pile of nonsense from a very questionable source.

What rumor was this?
Oh God! Natural light!Oh, Starlord just got another father...I think it is already father number 3? Either way, the source was Umberto, so no reason to get worked up over it.
For the uninitiated, Fox just removed Fantastic Four 2 from its release schedule.
Geez, what a surprise. Can they give the right back to Marvel, already?
It's almost as funny as when he said he had the scoop about who was playing Han Solo in the new Star Wars prequel and then the writers retweeted him on Twitter to say they hadn't even started casting yet.
They might go the route of having Iron Fist be an origin story with him only just beginning his martial arts training, so Daredevil can have him beat in experience to make up for his lack of Supernatural Martial Arts.
