Oh, and Sengoku Otome. Both from last season.

Final Fantasy X oh wait... ummm Angel Beats?
EDIT: Arakawa Under The Bridge is pretty much the same premise but entering the even stranger world under the bridge (however still technically in the real world).

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Okay, okay. I haven't watched it, but Now And Then Here And There apparently deconstructs it, along with supposedly being a good anime.

Murrl LustFatMDoes it have to be literal? If it's a metaphorical "new world" than I can think of lots more examples.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.
I love that image so much.
I watched Now And Then Here And There already. I didn't like it. Anyway, I'm also off to download some El Hazard because of this.
Yes, it must be literal. Though transported to a different time also works.
OMD EL HAZARD YES DO IT
Eien No Aselia? I think?
Here's a download. It's apparently quite good, and it's All Ages which is a rare bonus for visual novels.
In a similar vein is Cradle Song which hasn't been released yet but is a free OELVN with the premise you're looking for.
Also, no TYPE-MOON works even fit that definition, so I don't know what you're complaining about.

I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.Eien No Aselia is pretty interesting. High school kid gets transported into an alternate world, enslaved and turned into a slave general and made to conquer the world, more or less. More to it than that, but yeah. Art isn't very good though.
Depending on your definition of "ordinary", The Twelve Kingdoms might be what you're looking for.
in which an Ordinary Highschool Student gets transported into an alternate world and has to live in it.
I know its cliche, but its hard to find any good ones.
And nothing Type Moon ok? Hype Backlash.
