Know what's REALLY fun? Platforms choke points. Sniper. Everything DIES.
:smug:I must add that I absolutely hate the Sniper Elite Weapon in Battlefront 2. The elite bonuses vary, but the sniper gets special mention for how very bad it is. It never hits anything, no matter how directly you aim the shot at your opponent - I've literally seen it go through people and not effect anything it hits.
And if I remember correctly, it's one of the Elite weapons that completely replaces it's normal counterpart - once you get it, the moment you switch to a secondary weapon even for a moment you're also replacing your nifty regular sniper for the crappy beam variety.
It's much more useful to use the regular sniper rifle. At least that's reliable.
Usually when that happens I start going around attacking enemies off with the pistol (as bad as the Elite Sniper Rifle is, it's always a downright grand experience to wield the Elite Pistol. Muhuhuhaha), and on the off chance that I don't die before I run dry of ammo, if I get low with no way to replenish I then throw myself from the nearest, tallest tower.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The Elite Rifle was great. I could hit people accross the map with it. Great weapon on Hoth.
I always get that in the space zones, what exactly do you have to do for it? All I do is kill a lot of people and BAM! rifle outta nowhere.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote? That's exactly what you have to do for it. Kill enough people in one life and it will be awarded to you once you reach Veteran status.
When you reach Legendary, you get it automatically for the entire battle.
For the sniper I believe it's only six kills. It's possibly the easiest one to get... which brings me nothing but irritation.

:smug:^ With the regular sniper headshots aren't too much of a problem.
As for the rockets, love 'em, and hate that there's aren't too many stages where you can get them, since they require vehicles to be there. They make Hoth so much damn fun.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. You need six headshots-kills with a sniper rifle in one life. And the Elite Sniper Rifle could kill a guy by hitting him in the toe. On the other hand, it's impossible to hit anything with the Guided Rocket.
Likes many underrated webcomicsIf you hit the sprint button the rocket goes into overdrive, which results in a blast radius roughly the size of a starfighter crashing.
I found it the other way around - I've shot directly through people standing still with the Elite Sniper and had absolutely no effect with it - whether or not you actually hit people seems random, regardless of whether you aimed directly at them. After years of off and on trying with it, I just decided it's not worth it and stuck to the old dependable sniper for hits that actually make contact.
On the other hand, after years of working with it, I got pretty good at controlling the guided rocket - made it a lot easier (not to mention whole lots more fun) to hit vehicles, turrets, and the occasional close knit group of enemies. The main problem with it, though, is that you have to not die while you're using it while, depending on what you're aiming at, being completely vulnerable for a good amount of time.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The best way to get those sniper headshots is on Kamino, where there is a lot of turrets and you can peg them off rather easily. That's what I did to get the advance sniper, and I agree that it was a step down. Sniping was pretty hard to do in the game to begin with.
And it was glorious.

I was kind of sad when they toned down the recon droid in 2.
In 1, it was just awesome seeing massive blasts pounding the planet from space.
I found all these glitches on Kasheek in 2.
You can take a speeder bike and use the big trees like a ramp to get on the tallest platforms.
Mace Windu's explosion-drop is also great against infantry groups. But my personal favorite is Yoda. Tiny hitboxes FTW.
