So why exactly is Paramount's logo in this trailer? Disney bought the distribution rights for this film a year ago, before filming even took place. Marvel's own website even announced it:

So I have a couple of questions.

1) Why has The Avengers been renamed Avengers Assemble for the UK?

2) And why are we (and most countries, actually) getting it a full week ahead of the Americans?

With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.

It's named Avengers Assemble because of the old TV series The Avengers.

1) What he said.[up]

2) Because the UK is awesome and deserves better. But also probably because releasing it in a market is more like booking a time slot that trying for a finish line. You want it playing at theatres for a certain amount of time before the competition comes in and after some other film has gone out. You're also looking at different nations' term times and holidays and you are trying to stagger it out so that the stars can get to press junkets and premieres in different countries.

I'm not going to complain, though. Thor did pretty well overseas, and it started with the extra week in theaters.

Technically the Marvel Cinematic Universe thread is a Marvel film megathread that discusses all the films. Just sayin'

Theres sex and death and human grime in monochrome for one thin dime and at least the trains all run on time but they dont go anywhere.

I haven't been following it (enough stuff for me to follow as it is tongue ), but I'd imagine that the "Wheedon directing Avengers film" (or whatever) is discussing the movie as well.

Whedon Directing Avengers is the Avengers thread, is active and is doing fine. This thread is wholly superfluous.
