THIS.

I own a SNES, a Saturn, a Dreamcast, and a 360, so I _like_ graphics, but I don't need, or even want them. EDIT: I don't own a Saturn yet, like I said, whoring off my friend's and in the process of getting one.

I still haven't played Radiant Silvergun yet. It came out awhile ago, so I need Xbox points for that, too. Fuck not being able to get a job.

YOU WILL LIKE IT. Unless you have the "games are only good with good graphics and guns" attitude. I just realized that statement is an alliteration.

ahahahaha

I really like this game, a lot more fleshed out then I expected. Treasure is amazing. The updated sprites look cool too...the classic ones haven't aged well though, eck.

What do you like (or dislike) about the branched pathways? They borrowed that from Castlevania III, but with pimped out graphics, music, more characters, and RPG elements it makes it a hell of a lot funner with a lot of replay value. That's something hard to find in video games in this gen, in my opinion.

Has anyone else played Double Switch for Saturn? It's a So Bad, It's Good fmv game in the style of Night Trap. It's frustrating, but the hammy performances are fun to watch, and R. Lee Ermey steals the show. The main source of annoyance is that there are parts where you have to do things less than a second apart, which is a pain in the butt. Plus, it has continuity erros, such as when the same character can be in two different rooms at once. The best part is when R. Lee Ermey's character says "Excuse me sir, but your life is in imminent danger" in the calmest and most polite manner possible.

My cousin took my old Saturn when he moved. I still get goosebumps when I see/hear the startup screen.

I've always wanted to play Ni GHTS and Christmas Ni GHTS, but I've only ever played the Sega Superstars minigame, Ni GHTS Journey Of Dreams, and as Ni GHTS in Sonic Riders. sad

Ooooh I loved Ni GHTS as a kid. Never did beat it though. I got to Wizeman but I always had trouble beating twin Seeds and the few times I did get to Wizeman I was confused on how to attack him.

I remember the Soft Museum being a bit of a pain. I love the music for the game though, especially Mystic Forest and Stick Canyon.

It's a shame that they only released the NiGHTS remake in Japan. I was really praying for a Wii release, but I doubt it would happen. After the bad reception of Journey of Dreams (which IMO was a decent game with the classic or Game Cube controller), I doubt anyone would buy it. No one bought Jet Set Radio Future or Panzer Dragoon Orta, after all.

[up]I liked Journey, too! :D

I wish I knew it could've been played w/ the GC controller at the time, though. My bro sold his copy (which was a Xmas gift). Damn box doesn't tell ya these things!

Well Jet Set Radio 1 didn't sella whole bunch, and they included JSRF free with the Xbox anyway so...eh.Panzer Dragoon series has always been more of a cult game. A lot of non-sonic Sega games are like that.

Panzer Dragoon Orta didn't sell for the same reason that Okami did. But it's extremely easy for the Ni GHTS remake to be released, they just take the dialogue from the original game and use the graphics from the new game.

I just got a new battery for my Sega Saturn yesterday, and played some Sonic Jam. I like the system better than the PS 1, actually.

[up] I tend to agree. The PS 1 has plenty of multiplatform games, but with the Saturn, there are a lot of neat games you can't get anywhere else. Plus, the controller's D-Pad is far better than the Playstation D-pad.

^You're right about the D-Pad. The standard Sega Saturn controller is basically a deluxe version of the already comfy Sega Genesis pad—although the early Saturn pads were about as comfy as the original xbox "Shaq-Size" controller. The 3-D Saturn pad is also great and comfy, although the L button on mine is broken.

You're dead-on about the Saturn having a great exclusive library. I love Nights Into Dreams and Astal very much. Even some multiplatform titles such as Earthworm Jim 2 and Rayman actually seem better to me than the PS 1 ports!

Hm, it seems Sega might be interested in remaking Nights. Give your thoughts on their facebook page on it, or else.

What about the RPGs on the system? My favorites are Dragon Force, Shining Force III, and Panzer Dragoon Saga.
