Whenever I get enough ideas
Oh, hey, your ideas cool! I'll need a few extra plugins to make it work, and I will need to recode them, but I think I could get them working.

That might be mine, actually. Was it a PDA? With the tropey name?
:smug:Yeah, i haven't submitted anything yet.... Can ya give me a week?
Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity. What exactly is possible with custom weapons? Is it just mix and match existing properties, or can you make entirely new features?
<><I would also like to know that before thinking some ideas.
Is Foundry in the map rotation?
Lotsa ideas! [Work in Progress]
- Level 1 Pair Of Swords
- +100% attack speed
- +15% Speed
- +25 Health
- Occupies both melee and secondary slot (melee and sticky/shield slot)
- 150% healing rate
- -66% drain on Uber Charge
- Charges/Drains for each patient in range
- Can charge up to 150%
- Divides healing rate between all nearby allies
- -75% Uber Charge rate
- 50% of charge acquired from patient passively lost upon leave
- -1 health over time
- Medic does not heal over time while actively healing
- Manually healing counts as extra patient
- Standard Uber
- Level ?? Gun Type
- -20% movement speed
- No penalty while revved/shooting
For comparison:
- 104%- BSS speed
- 99%- GRU Speed
- 83%- BSS speed with [Name]
- 80%- GRU Speed with [Name]
- 77%- Base Heavy Speed
- 61%- Heavy speed with [Name]
- 41%- Heavy speed while revved
- 14%- BBB revved
- Level 1 Smoke Bomb
- Obscures all vision bar directly in front
- Smoke does not obscure your vision
- Spy is invisible, intangible, and -85% damage taken while inside smoke
- +20% speed upon exiting smoke
- Blocks enemy fire from hurting spy
- Smoke is highly visible
- +100% cloak drain
- Cannot use until fully charged
- Way too long, just go read it.
- Way too long, go read.
- Spy backstabs target
- Target corpse morphs into spy corpse
- Kill feed reports spy as dead.
- Cloak Type: Reflexive
- +200% cloak recharge rate (10 seconds to fully charge as opposed to 30)
- Cannot be recharged with ammo
- Decloak on hit
- Too long, read.
- Getting lazy, read.
- Sigh...
- You get it, right?

Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity. The Syringe Saw:
- Occupys both primary and melee slot.
- On normal fire, launches syriges.
- On alt fire melee hit.
- While active the user losses one health per second
Intangible, cannot be hurt by enemy fire, AND -85% damage? Add to that the invisible bit and blinding enemies, and the drawback is NOT worth anything.
:smug:And waht are you going to do? Sit in it for five seconds, then get killed?
Gonna get all of these into the Google doc by next week.

Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity. How big is the radius, and is there range on it? (Also, those first three things I mentioned seem a bit redundant)

:smug:I must ask "why?" Basically, zero weapon switch time but you lose health, and it's a Medic weapon?

The sad, REAL American dichotomyThe radius of teh smoke is no greater than the width of the Tuefort Sniper balcony.
The smoke drops right at your feet.

Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.Hmmmm...can you throw it away from you like jarate? Or is it just whre you're standing?
:smug:BUT the Medic recovers health pasively, so the weapon would only decrease the health regenration of the Medic by 1 instead of the blutsauger 2 and the idea is to loose one health point of regeneration while you have the weapon out justified by it beingf a syringe gun with a saw where the Medic holds it with the left hand.
So...a Lancer? :p
:smug:I supose you can see it like that.
I know. But how often would a medic need to take advantage of that bonus? It just doesn't seem right to me. Oh well.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyWell it is a bonus so that you can backpedal and if the enemie gets on your face to give them a nice burst damage. The reason of the loosing health regenration while active it is to discourage using it normally like all the other Medic weapons do.
Nigh-straight upgrade. There's no reason to have your primary out if there's no enemy, and usually your'e better off healling an ally. If you're by yourself and backpedaling, there's no real difference among any of teh syringe guns. If you're actively hunting, the ability to shoot adn then melee instantly is a huge advantage.
Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.A lot is possible with clever plugin coding and use of the different weapon attributes. But, a few things I don't think I can do that have been suggested.
- Occupies multiple slots
- Anything that affects how uber is gained. So, if it isn't related to an attack or healing one guy, it ain't gonna work.
- Dividing healing, excluding giving other weapons an Amputator type taunt. I'm not 100% this is completely impossible.
- Affecting vision, at least in the ways described. I could probably get a weapon to give you drugs or make you half blind, though.
- Intangibility.
- Buildings attached to players.
- Overheal only works in two ways. None or 150% buff.
As a rule of thumb, try to use existing stats on existing weapons in creative ways. Here, have a list.

The "Buildings attached to players." Does that mean "The game knowing what was built by what engy for use with items" or literally attached. Like a sentry on hoovy's back. Or worse, a dispenser. WALKING PAYLOAD BOMB.
:smug:Buildings are a touchy thing. They are really, really hard to modify. I can make their health different, the DPS of sentries different, and Dispensers heal rate different. Oh, and build rate. But, making anything like a Sentry that you build on Engineer's back or a radically different type of attack, like flames or grenades, are impossible to my knowledge.
It means the building is duct-taped to the target's back.
Morg, care to tell me which items ARE/MAYBE possible from the list?

Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.I'd assume if he didn't say it was impossible you can safely consider it at least in the maybe category.

Hang on, gotta dig through my posts on the SPUF forums....
What's the deadline?
