Here is what I found in a brief check of some of the wicks. When checking over them I was under the impression that the trope was about a protagonist arriving somewhere after something bad happened and trying to figure out what that event was and/or why it occurred.

Misuse
- No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle (things happened earlier, but there is not really a discovery process)
- America Wins The War (talking about World War II)
- Characters/Armored Core All As One (misuse for generally being late)
- Chincha Islands War (misuse for generally being late)
- Decade (misuse for generally being late)
- Diabolus Ex Machina (talks about surviving the Late to the Party so is probably misuse)
Basically, of the examples I looked at, there is a misuse rate of 6/50 or 12.0%, assuming all of the examples without context are good examples. Excluding the examples without context, there is a misuse rate of 6/43 or 13.9%.

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Bump. Are we going to do anything here or what? There are more tropes that need repair, and TRS has been at 501 for months now. Let's get a move on.
Sorry for the wait, there is now a single proposition crowner for this trope here.
Since January 1, 2011 this article has brought 102 people to the wiki from non-search engine links.
On one hand, misuse is low. On the other, the name could be misleading. Late to the Tragedy sounds better, as a redirect if nothing else.
Currently 11 yeas to 4 nays. Bumping to be sure we've got consensus here.
I didn't write any of that.Calling crowner in favor of a rename.
I didn't write any of that.I've created an alt-titles crowner here with the suggestion above. Feel free to add other proposals.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCrowner hooked.
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur. The trope is "showing up in an area where some sort of disaster has occurred and having to figure out what happened", right? So Post Disaster Arrival, Post Disaster Investigation, or Post Disaster Exploration?
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Man, this needs more votes.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Bumping for votes.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Bumping one last time for votes. Seven is a bit low to call.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Ok, name changed, discussion moved, change noted on the Renamed Tropes and on the FAQ thread, and all wicks fixed or removed.
We went from 178 wicks to 147, even though I was fairly generous in allowing borderline cases, so that was just under 20% misuse.
Unless I've forgotten something, I think we're done here.
eta: misuse was much heavier in the second half of the alphabet—probably because of an earlier, incomplete cleanup attempt. This is why misuse checks shouldn't be done with just A-D. :)

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Locking per request.
Crown Description:
I'll take Guess That Trope for $400, Alex....
The title is not Exactly What It Says on the Tin, but it's not far off, either.
What is, "a story setup where the protagonist arrives in a setting and slowly uncovers whatever kind of disaster happened there?"
So a few things, one being a quick misuse check because we don't want people linking to the phrase without the trope actually occuring.
The other is to tweak the description, which currently implies that this is exclusive to the Video Games media. Sure, the mere format of video games lends itself well to player-driven exploration and discovery, but this is far from being media-exclusive.
