DEATH BATTLE

I've decided to go back through Death Battle's earlier seasons and some of the Death Battle casts.

• I'll be honest - never having played a single Metroid before, but skimmed a lot of the Wiki and playthroughs, I've never heard of Samus actually receiving payment for any of her jobs.
• Boomstick's voice changed over the course of the series. He's got less of a redneck-sounding voice. Sounds more like a guy talking crap at the back of the school bus.
• The writing of the jokes was different too. "Too bad Samus's armor makes her look like a dude."
• The episode was almost seven minutes long, received sponsorship from Netflix, and came out in 2010.
• The setup is that the Slave 1 blasted Samus's ship and she crashed on a random planet. I guess Boba had a contract on Samus? And oh, the first Death Battle had a life meter for both combatants. The animation was pretty basic too, at least compared to what we would get in later seasons.
• The finishing blow was Samus freezing Boba with her Ice Beam and blasting him with her arm cannon. Her superior tech and skill, as well as her Chozo DNA giving her superior athleticism, gave her the win.

Samus being a bounty hunter is something of an Informed Attribute since... well, she never hunts bounties and she's more like a mercenary or a gun-for-hire. Across every game, she's never once hunted a bounty but has undertook countless investigation and rescue missions.

I think Dread is the first game that directly touches on her payment, since Adam wryly warns that they're being undercompensated for how dangerous a purported X-Parasite outbreak would be.

I hope Michelangelo gets another shot one of these days. Considering the Last Ronin is getting a movie adaptation, that could be his shot.

The Last Ronin vs Old Man Logan is a popular matchup so that’s probably his best shot.

I think they’ve mentioned interest in Michelangelo VS Jay Walker, and have expressed an interest in using that series since they did a cast on that exact match.

Did you know Ninjago has 15 seasons? I didn’t know it has 15 seasons. And a sequel series that already has 2 seasons. What happened when I stopped paying attention to it?

It got fifteen seasons and a sequel series that got two seasons.

So May 15th will be the last day of the Rooster Teeth Website and App.

Not really up on TMNT stuff, but isn't is canon that Leonardo is the best fighter of the 4 right now but Michaelangelo has the potential to be the best?

The best fighter is usually Leo or Raph depending on the continuity, Mikey has some moments where he comes out on top, and Donnie never wins because he's more of the brains of the operation.

Best Potential doesn't really mean the best now. Mikey has always been portrayed as the "Slacker" and would definitely be more powerful if he put in the same efforts as his brothers. If we were to take Mikey at his peak, he definitely would pose a challenge, but again, Leo or Raph are usually the two who are always at the top of their game.

Pretty much.

Leo is the best because he trains the hardest, with Raph behind him.

Mikey has the most raw talent, and if he trained as hard as Leo or even Raph did, he'd blow past them utterly (remember, he dual wields Nunchuks).

But until he does bother to put in that level of training, potential is all he has.

That's kinda what I mean. Leo is the best (most of the time ) because of his discipline and dedication. Mikey canonically could be best if he had that same determination, but he doesn't do he isn't.

Definitely check it out if you can. It's arguably the best "how to catch 'em" style detective series ever made.

I'd argue that, if you're writing a take on the characters that, by its very nature, distorts those characters beyond recognition, it is inherently a fanfiction. If anything, the more you base a versus depiction on character distortion and exaggeration, the more of a fanfic it becomes.

On the subject of TMNT, I'd really like a team battle with them where they can all work together.

Maybe against the Penguins of Madagascar.

A Teenage Mutant Samurai Wombats fight would be interesting (toss in Biker Mice from Mars and Street Sharks, and a few others you can think of.)

Now this would be an interesting matchup...

But does SMBZ's Mecha Sonic/Metallix have what it takes to defeat CRUSH Kars?

So it just dawned on me that I'd like to see Gambit vs Rex Plode.

They basically have the same power, so it's a good match.

They have a bit more in common, but only if you take X-Men '97 and an upcoming Arc of the comics into account.

TBH it's kind of hard to tell. Taking just the SMBZ reboot into account, Metallix isn't really ready to be analyzed yet because the show is only two episodes in. (and let's be real here, there's a good chance it may never be finished at all)

It'd have some interesting back-and-forth banter though.

Huh... I just noticed that Mark Haynes' Twitter account has disappeared, but he's still uploading on YouTube so there's still hope for Episode 3... right? Right...?

Uh... Haynes got caught up having some... really bad takes on his Twitter account. So, that's probably kneecapped a lot of support he once had.

Huh. And apparently this isn't the first time it's happened. :|

Pretty sure SMBZ is dead and Haynes is doomed to lead the life of a hairdresser.
