Gay Pride vs Straight Pride.

Why some people want straight pride so much? and why they some don't like gay pride?

Straight Pride? Nice idea, but who the hell would attend? What would be the point!

There isn't a Straight Pride parade for the same reason why there isn't an International Men's Day.

There are no goals to accomplish, and no milestones to celebrate.

What really got on my nerves was the use of the terms "Some stubborn people" to describe the anti-LGBT rights movement as something that we aren't suppose to worry about.

I swear, Americans will take any excuse to not go to work and get shitfaced. I mean, what other reason have we co-opted St. Patrick's Day and Cinco de Mayo? Also, if chicks start making out, then that's not exactly promoting "straight pride", is it?

Finally, is it just me or is anybody else constantly getting that banner ad about the gay hotel with the naked Asian guy up against the wall?

I can understand the guy's butthurt. Straight people (especially men) feel that they are basically being told that they owe the world an apology for being who they are when confronted with constant political activistism of minority groups. But shooting back with your own pride movement is the wrong attitude to take.

People feel threatened because instead of asking "why are you guys having a parade?", they just jump into the conclusion "if they're proud of who they are, then that must mean they think they're better than me".

Though admittedly, there is a thin line between pride and arrogance. Nationalism/patriotism makes that very obvious, and I sometimes lapse into thinking no one should be allowed to be proud of their nationality, since it always leads into bigotry. Therefore, I won't blame anyone (too much) for thinking that people shouldn't be allowed to be proud of their sexuality.
