Ok, first the good parts. The girls are cute, the interview/documentary format was a good way to get us introduced to all of them quickly and get the broad strokes of their personalities laid out for us. The animation is good, the character designs are nice, the performances are good, the songs are great, all in all, A++.
However! I am slightly miffed. More like I'm feeling trolled. It turns out that Producer-san is in the show. I would not have a problem with this if we hadn't been told that he wouldn't be. That just annoys me on principle.
Impressions of the girls:
- Haruka: Baka-ribbon is baka, but maybe not so much as expected
- Chihaya: Way too serious, in a thousand years, after the apocalypse, her descendant will take up the trumpet
- Yukiho: Absolutely adorable. Androphobic as all hell.
- Makoto: Needs to live with being a girl magnet. Also the solution to Yukiho's androphobia
- Miki: Middle schooler my ass
- Hibiki: Way, way more hyper than I expected.
- Ami/Mami: Cute, in their twinness
- Iori: Her slightly stuck-up ojou-sama schtick amuses me
- Yayoi: Her energy is her sales point!
- Azusa: Slightly airheaded, but very kind
- Takane: Strange. Just...very, very strange.
- Ritsuko: Surprisingly easily flustered, amusing to watch
- Kotori: NEEDS MORE SCREEN TIME

Aww, don't go hating on Xenoglossia. It wasn't a good Idolmaster anime, but it was a very fun mech anime in general.
Here's what I was wondering back when I went through some let's plays of the games: what exactly does Producer-san bring to the table as a character? What is he actually needed for? I mean, in-game it makes sense, since the player needs someone to be, but Ritsuko is right there! I'm reasonably sure from what I've seen that she's capable of carrying a show as the lead, and I thought les yay was a big money maker these days.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Watched the first episode. It was an obvious mistake to introduce so many characters at the same time and not concentrate on any of them as they've been boiled down to a quirk each as a character.
and that's how Equestria was made!An anime? Oh man, now Berserk will never be finished!
I'll, uh, just wait and hope there's a second season with the 876 group. >_>
So this is not the show for people who know nothing of Idolmaster?
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I know nothing of iDOLM@STER but I was interested... until the documentary stopped which caused my interest to drop a little. I did saw it coming though. While I liked that style* , I did not think it would sell well. Will still watch it though. There are other ways to enjoy myself
I think I did something last night...
uhh...what in the world gave you that idea?
Hell, the episode was constructed precisely to introduce you to all the characters.
Or you could, you know, watch it and find out.
And they finally add a face to "the producer". Which looks like Ayase Yuuto >.<'

...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura Chifuyuyeah, he kinda does
Where should I look to find it subbed?
Should've checked the list.Youtube
Although the screen gets downsized on a background picture, and the subs are deformatted and cluttered around the place
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...Go DL the subbed episode and fix it to your liking.
...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura Chifuyu
At no point did anyone ever tell you to go look at a Tokyo Toshokan
Episode 2
That was absolutely perfect. Exactly what I wanted from this show.
Producer-san (who apparently is not going to get a name to go with his face and his voice) was very well handled. Just the right combination of encouraging presence and slight dopiness.
Kotori is apparently a yuri fangirl (who ships Makoto/Yukiho!) and Makoto managed to knock out the cameraman's assistant with a single smile.
I guess this counted as an Iori episode, judging by the ED that was used. Though it was really an Ami/Mami/Iori/Yayoi episode. Nice insert song as well.
Takane is just soooooo weird though.
>_< WAH SPOILER!
Gonna watch it too later.
...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura Chifuyu...I'm not really liking this thus far. I think they probably have a bit too many characters (which means they'll get too little time to actuall develop any of them) and only a few seem likeable.
Some interestind directorial techniques used though.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntThe show isn't bad so far, but I still don't know if I can take a full season of it. The girls are cute, sure, but girls just being cute isn't enough to actually make a show out of.
Also I need to make myself understand that Ryo is never going to make an appearance in this show.
Nothing head canon can't fix.
They totally do make shows about cute girls being cute, though.
Yeah, I like this show. Chalk it up to low standards and overactive hormones.

OK so who played this game before. Seriously I bet one of us here is with them haters of Idolm@ster 2, from which this anime is based from, and wants to thow all their hate here too. Before this turns to a bloodbath, fess up then leave.
I love the game BTW. I can live w/out Iori, one of the twins, and Azusa. I cannot, however, imagine Idolm@ster without Mikki.
...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura Chifuyu
But the anime dispenses with the aspects of iM@S2 that people don't like.
That I know. That's why I'm waiting for an idiot to just lose it.
- Love it: stay!
- hate it: GTFO!
- Love Mikki: PM me... we need to talk....

The iDOLM@STER
Well, lets get ready to put on a show!
