Um, AC 3? Not an FPS, but there are hardly "nothing but crappy first and third person shooters" coming out this year.

What does that stand for?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Assassin's Creed 3.
That's a thing?
Wait. Isn't there already an AC 3? The one where the first and second game's protagonists team up?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."That's Revelations.
That's Revelations, which is more like Assassin's Creed 2.75. And not so much team up as the more recent one learns of what happened to the older one. It's complicated.
There was also Assassin's creed Brotherhood, which was AC 2.5
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen Fry... Video game sequel numbering makes no sense.
Either have numbers, subtitles, or both at the same time, but don't have them both at different times, damn it.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."they didn't increase the number for 2's trilogy, since the dev-team wanted each numbered sequel to have a different main protagonist.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryWell, for AC, numbers are reserved for games that update the gameplay significantly, while subtitles are more Gaiden Games.

BAH!
Get out of here with your reasonable explanations.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Never! I subsist on reasonable explanations! D:<
though... weirdly, the Gaiden Game for 3 (which is going to be released the same day as 3) is getting both the subtitle AND the number.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryHeh...
Right... so... Dishonored? I hear that's a pretty cool game.

that's capitalist lies. Lies and propaganda.
Obviously Corvo (Korvo?) is brainwashing you! :P

Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryAt any minute, a dude in a skull mask will jump out of me and kill my entire family with a repeating crossbow doohickey. It will be so cool though, that the not-coolness of being murdered will be negated.
So how hard is it to make legs visible in first person?
Because as awesome as those rooftop kills look, they also look pretty silly.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."From a platforming perspective it doesn't look too bad. I mean if you just miss out on the ledge then Corvo just hangs on and then climbs up anyway. And there's always Blink if you want to absolutely make sure you end up on the platform.
I didn't really notice the lack of feet in rooftop assassinations until you mentioned them but them, I guess I'm just used to that from FP Ses and First person platformers and stuff.
I'm assuming first person animations are fairly difficult to setup since not many games have them aside from the occasional scripted sequence.

Between the Antivan Crows and the protagonist here being named Corvo, what is up with crow-themed assasins?
♭What.I'm not entirely sure what that first part had to do with anything, but yeah.
I suppose I'm used to it as well, but it still looks weird to me.
Though I suppose I can just assume the player character is just diving off the roof instead of flat-out jumping.
A group of crows is called a murder, and crows are commonly associated with death.

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Oh, just usually when people complain about lack of feet in first person games that require some platforming it's usually based on that idea that without being able to see your feet it's difficult to judge your jumps and distances and stuff. My point was that even if you miss the ledge by a small amount Corvo just grabs on and climbs up anyway and Blink can always guarantee a safe landing for sure.
I've never played a first person game that required much platforming aside from Portal, so no, that's not what my complaint it.
My issue is purely aesthetic.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I like how the finishers are very quick and get you right back in the game. Deus Ex: Human Revolution's takedowns were funny (double backhand, anyone), but really slow.
EIGHT GLORIOUS SIDESI've noticed that in a lot of games with finishing moves.
I mean, kicking a wolf in the god damn mouth in Skyrim is really cool, but it takes so long.
Good to see this game is avoiding it.

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I hate how these finisher moves seem to be popping up EVERYWHERE though. Fuck, even games like Splinter Cell and Devil May Cry have added them. They don't add anything except a minor "Oh hey, that's kinda neat" factor and then that quickly wears off.
I hope they have the ice power from Dark Messiah in this. That spell made Dark Messiah like 7 times greater.
EDIT: I mean, just look at this video. It's the best thing ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XS49Dazin3E

EIGHT GLORIOUS SIDES...listening to that music there's only one thing that comes to mind:
They win the GOTY in our hearts.
