I have a question. Do to a power outage at my house, I was unable to jump in. When would a be a good time to jump in now?

Probably tomorrow, TBH. The game is winding down for the night and most players are in bed or going soon.

OK, what would be a good time to jump in and how should I jump in? I don't want to make an ass of myself.

Considering all the characters are just about to transition into the main setting for the current plot, now's the perfect time. And you can do it any way you decide, unless you have a particular thing in mind that you want permission for.

I was thinking along the lines of thug-for-hire down on his luck. But I'm open to suggestions.

You mean he rings up or meets our guys and asks to be hired? Cause that sounds fine to me.

Character that might be making irregular appearances.

Name: Irene Banner, father's given last name not known.
Race: Cat-morph Humanoid
Gear: A custom made balisong typically stowed away in the poof of her right-hand sleeve cuff, and a hyperspace cube tied by cutsey mascot chain to her waistband, which holds all manner of mundane frippery that teenagers cannot survive without, like bath products, her phone, pictures of her crushes back home, etc. Also, fucktons of cigarettes. She's a walking convenience store in this regard, and also incredibly loathe to share.
Powers: She is keyed into fate, which for the purposes of this RP means she's keener than average to what other people are thinking (not a mind reader, she just tends to at least have a hint) and that GM's can potentially reveal things through her specifically if anyone remembers this character's ability, which nobody will so it's a non-issue anyways.
Physical Abilities: Irene is essentially an average human teenage girl in terms of strength, however she's been toughened up dramatically in other regards by her backstory. She has good stamina and can keep going past quite a few exhaustion limits that even more formally trained people would find a ceiling. She's quite agile, good reflexes, likeable to a human-sized cat (which she is, essentially). She's handled a lot of weapons and committed them to muscle memory, to the point where she can handle almost anything given to her with professional ability, except for the most exotic things uniquely designed to the geometry of a non-humanoid alien or the like.

However she is usually not heavily armed for a reason. She's an excellent brawler despite her deceptive appearance due to the speed at which she can strike and avoid enemy strikes, and she loves getting up close and personal. She specializes in grappling martial arts like jujutsu, chin na, aikido and the like.
Quick Traits: She does not actually formally join the group, but rather becomes a friendly recurring character who randomly appears due to her removal from linear time and helps them on missions sometimes because she's bored and rather good at fighting despite essentially being an underage civilian. In combat she is pragmatic and downright brutal at times, and does not even remotely hesitate the moment she is given an excuse to attack. Even friends. Obviously she won't kill them if they're friends but she is never above breaking bones. Otherwise she is a crude teenager with a distaste for 'touchy feely' things and a love of sports like soccer and skating.

You can just say he's on the main spaceship and try and get the attention of a player who's got a free character.

To be honest, I have an idea for implementing an RP test much like what is seen in the Pokemon trainer RP and WAOA.

The first good thing about the idea is that it can be conducted in the RP thread itself; and it works like the WAOA one - gauges someone's roleplay style.

The second good thing means it can be entirely justified in game. You see, the POJ exists in the Multiverse - where the possibilities of anything are infinite. Thus, the possibility of finding an exact duplicate of two universes is eventually 1:1.

With this in mind, Eve has exploited the Multiverse to find an infinite amount of universes where organizations request assistance in defeating other organizations - these "other organizations" having stolen precious military secrets and kept them in a briefcase for safekeeping, guarded by four soldiers. As such, new hires, in addition to being interviewed the standard way (because you can't miss out on getting asked what to do when a fat, jolly, red man with a box of presents suddenly appears), are sent on a blue milk run by Eve herself; retrieve the briefcase, dispose of the soldiers as you see fit (if you deem it necessary), then escape.

This is that test. It's carefully arranged to let prospective players show off their character's firepower and abilities while also providing enough of a challenge that they need to think a little bit. It does sound a bit overkill like this, but it's simple in practice; briefcase over there guarded by four soldiers a little above the norm in skill level. Get ye briefcase, kill soldiers if necessary, escape.

minimum character requirements: we need at least two vet members of our merry band (ie two long runners)

people involved: a large number of places we have been to in the past

I was just saying I forgot what the minimum character requirements and people involved things were for XD

@shiny: Does Joseph count as a long-runner? After all, he was there during the first run of WAOAA.

if a character can remember what jollywood was I think thats whats considered a long runner
