Sadly, it's already been removed.
I saved a picture of it.

Ooh, link? I want to show it to friends, if you wouldn't mind.
News International can presumably be sued, since they'd be liable.
Da Rules excuse all the inaccuracy in the world. Listen to them, not me.You fools! You realize what this means now; The Sun's going to be a seven day newspaper now. And Rebecca whatshername still has her job intact. It's not over yet, folks.
Hellote....Unless The Sun is found to be involved with this as well, which wouldn't surprise me.

Da Rules excuse all the inaccuracy in the world. Listen to them, not me.This is clearly intended to make it harder to follow the trail of who did what, since all professional ties will be dispersed.
Hmm... they must be able to get access to the company records. Surely there must be ways of getting details from companies that have since gone defunct?
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books. Most of it, but very quickly the person who's job it was to keep track of that information will be elsewhere, some will be working abroad, the computer systems are there to study but the man who kept it all running now has a job at Fox News so good luck getting anything out of it...
Oh... wow.
I expected there to be fines, jail sentences and apologies... but I really didn't expect that...
I am scared of the possibility of a seven day Sun. Feel sorry for the staff who had nothing to do with the phone hacking. News International had better keep their word and offer them jobs somewhere else.

I thought the Sun WAS a seven day paper. Would it really be so bad? It sounds like a British version of The NY Post, but fewer puns and more nudity.
I'm a skeptical squirrelI wonder if all of the tabloids have their fingers in the pie...
Nope, News of the World was basically the Sunday Sun (thinking about it, The Sunday Sun will probably be the replacement, and it will probably be exactly the same as Not W but with a different name).

Yeah, the BBC website is suggesting just that in commentary.
This is truly an extraordinary moment. I never thought I'd see a profitable national newspaper closed at a moment's notice for political/moral reasons. It reinforces Murdoch's reputation for ruthlessness. Tabloid journalists aren't a popular breed, for good reasons, but to lose your job like this is pretty brutal.
On the legal point mentioned above, this won't affect the legal proceedings - those are against the company, News International.
"Well, it's a lifestyle"I'm with Arla on this.
Totally cynical move.

By the powers invested in me by tabloid-reading imbeciles, I pronounce you guilty of paedophilia!Probably not. I did read an article on the Independent about them being investigated as well, I think. Might need to dig that article up.
UPDATE: Did not expect this.

Hellote. So delicious to see people with scruples for once.
Wow... I actually find myself kind of respecting Sun workers.
Also, apparently Fabulous, the insert magazine from News of the World, is surviving, which strengthens the replacement theories.

I'm delighted to hear of NOTW's closure. However it's going to be replaced by The Sun on Sunday. Which means Murdoch's propaganda and misinformation machine will continue pumping out the usual prolefeed sewage.

Indeed, by the sounds of it, the website has already been registered...
And it goes to the Top — Rupert Murdoch must pay.
