GASP an actually awesome looking widget game that is set for release in NA? Preposterous!
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.I have to say, this is not what I expected when Nomura said that the next Dissidia game wouldn't be a fighting game
Some reactions are just plain hystarical.
Props to Square Enix for trying something new.
This being Square Enix, it'll still somehow be RPG-ized to the extreme.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderDespite being punched by the left Fieldness of it. I might get it....While I don't like rhythm games too much ( I have only ever played Gitaroo Man ), I actually Might like this....though judgement is always reserved for more info.
This is so WTF that I'm actually considering getting it.
Kudos to Square for actually trying something different.

It's more frustrating waiting for the asskicking than the asskicking itself.I might actually get this when I get a 3DS sometime. I always enjoy a good rhythm game.
I spread my wings, fly away. The wind sweeps me off my feet, blowing me away yeah. Trees whispering to me. I'm feeling free now.Wacky. That's the only way I can describe this idea. Wacky like a redhead trying to keep up with a chocolate production line. Wacky like an animated disagreement about the hunting season. Wacky like three hardboiled eggs, and one duck egg.
And it is awesome. :D
But somehow,◊Hm, normally, I don't play rhythm games. With this, I just might make an exception.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Edward as an Infinity +1 Sword
I have a message from another time...I really hope so.
I like Edward.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderI expect an appearance by Dancer Bartz.
It's more frustrating waiting for the asskicking than the asskicking itself.Wouldn't Bard Bartz be more appropriate?
I have a message from another time...I WTF'd at first, but after reading about it:
I
APPROVE
:D
"badass" doesn't anything in after used end fail be fine.A Rhythm game with famous compositions throughout the series? Sign me up!
Wouldn't Bard Bartz be more appropriate?
Dancer Bartz has a better outfit,◊ though. xD
The official teaser site is up. You can hear a pretty funky version of the Final Fantasy theme there.
GOH! JII! RAH!You can also mouse over the characters to make something happen. It's oddly fun to torment poor Bartz. XD;
Also: you can bean Lightning in the head, knock Bartz flat, and do nothing to the Warrior of Light.
I have a message from another time..."Theatrythym: Final Fantasy is a new game in the works by Square-Enix that takes the characters, monsters, and locales of the series and sets them in a rythym game. Characters will control a party of chibi-fied characters designed by Monster Octopus. Studio indieszero is developing the game, who’ve partnered with Namco-Bandai and Nintendo in the past for portable and niche games.
A preface to the game’s plot is also featured on the site. The world of Theatrythym is a time interval called “Rythym” between the realms of Cosmos and Chaos, the two gods featured prominently in Dissidia (but a separate universe regardless). Rythym begets the crystals to fill the world with music, but the forces of Chaos are out to disturb them in some nefarious plot. Thus, the crystals begin to lose their light. They guide warriors of Cosmos, instructing them to create a special kind of music called “Rizupo”.
The time interval between the pillars of the Gods Cosmos and Chaos ─ was called Rhythm.
Rythym produced the crystals through the power of music and the world was filled with the glow of sound. The forces of Harmony and Chaos disturb the Crystals, and the begin to lose their luster.
To restore the light to the crystals, the wave of music called “Rizupo” is needed.
In TRFF, you will be able to form a party of four characters. It was revealed that all the main characters from Final Fantasy I through XIII will be present and accounted for. The game will have “field”, “battle”, and “event” scenes. Characters will level up, receiving experience at the end of a “stage”. There is also an emphasis on collection, as you will be able to collect music and cutscenes. The website notes that Theatrythym is a game that can be considered: “Theatre + Rythym”."

"On the music front, the game will have major songs from the numbered FF games. Specific songs mentioned by Square Enix include Clash on the Big Bridge (Final Fantasy V), One Winged Angel (Final Fantasy VII), At Zanarkand (Final Fantasy X) and The Sunleth Waterscape (Final Fantasy XIII). And, of course, the main FF theme."

I hope they put in The Decisive Battle (FFVI). I'd love to have characters dance to that.
So, is anyone up for making a Theatrhythm Final Fantasy page? I would do it myself, but I'm currently edit banned.
This is a new FF rhythm game for the 3DS.
Yeah, really.
So far the only knowlege of the story is "Final Fantasy characters are fighting to return light to the crystal."
The game was registered in both the NA and EU regions at E3 so its likely to come out over here.
Personally I think this sounds completely awesome.
