This image relies on text as well, but I can't seem to find a good crowd image involving Kane.◊
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelI noticed this picture◊ from Wikipedia. It's got a character that is an actual example of the trope (Griffith from Berserk), and it actually shows both aspects of the trope (the Griffith portion fulfilling the Messiah imagery aspect, and the Femto portion showing off the Dark part). Maybe it's possible to rearrange so that one of the pictures is on top of the other in order to make it less wide?

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)I'd support that.
Possible alternative Kane picture.◊ The wide-screen implies a large audience and Slavik poised to cut Hassan's throat shows fanatical obedience.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.I'd go with the Griffith one
If you eat a live frog in the morning, nothing worse will happen to either of you for the rest of the day.It doesn't really show the trope, though; it just shows Griffith and Femto right next to each other, but it doesn't show how Griffith is a Dark Messiah. Neither does the trope picture, but it wouldn't make sense to substitute it for a pic that makes the exact same mistake.
Something like the pic for A Nazi by Any Other Name would work perfectly for this trope.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
That's just Jesus being tempted by Satan, right? I'm not sure that counts.
No it is the Anti-christ.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Hmmmm...I still think it might cause confusion, but let's see what others have to say once they wake up.
Well, people can mistake it for Jesus being tempted by Satan. Image Links for me.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Caption can say it's not Jesus. The fact that it's easily confused for "the messiah" is a plus, IMO.
Justin Crowe is good too. Pose and clothes say "messiah", facial expression (and the general tone of the image) says "dark".

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Ah, that's a good point! It's a good contender, then.
I also have stated my support for the other picture you mentioned.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.I've a feeling JAFAAC could be invoked on the Carnivale character, though.
That would be mistaken, IMO.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I don't know if it's a perfect representation of the trope, but I kind of like evil Quentin Tarantino◊
Huh? He's a preacher. His eyes kinda look like they're rolled up into his head a little I guess.
Fight smart, not fair. This one's way past time to close up. The Image Links page is stuffed with the suggestions; locking up.
One of those "that looks fantastic for some gut-feeling-related reasons so while I think it fits perfectly I cannot back it up or explain why I think it fits" cases.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.
