Bad Description: Boys Be

Just look at the short description. Not only does it tells you to take a path, but the editor admits that the description is poor. Also, is it a visual novel, or an anime?

Is anyone familiar with the work so we can fix this? It has more than three tropes so it can't really be cut.

All of them.

It appears to be indexed as an anime, so the anime was probably the intention meant when creating the page. However, if the anime's based on any of the mangas (or all of them) and the musicals are also based on it, then I'd say cover all of them.

If the anime is independent from the others, however, move it to the Anime/ namespace, change the main into a disambig, and find someone who knows any of the other works and can trope them.

Its all of them I think.

Lets see its a Shounen Manga about six girls trying to find their first love, 3 separate manga series were produced in Weekly Shonen Magazine running from 1991 – 1997, 1997 – 2000, 2000 – 2001 each expanding on the cast. Only the first two series were licensed by Tokyo Pop in America leaving the last one No Export for You.

With a 13 episode anime by Hal Film Maker running in 2000 while a few stories are taken from the first manga the overall plot is completely different Licenced by Anime Network each DVD carried as season as its name.

In 2009 a 4th season Boys Be... Next Season was started in Magazine Special (along side Gacha Gacha, Pastel, Negima Neo.) and is still ongoing.

(surprising I expected Shōjo manga considering the premise but this joins the likes of K On and Azumanga Daioh in What Do You Mean Its Not For Girls.)

Thats just what I got out of my search for info on the series from the various sites like ANN and such. Anyone want to clean it up and put it up?

Oh and found this picture which might work for the page.

Well, I own what manga has been published in English... while there are recurring characters, there really isn't a cohesive plot structure - stories are generally one to three chapters long, mostly self-contained, and detail budding romances between boys and girls, told from the boys' point of view.

It's more a series of vignettes about teenage romance more than anything else, at least in the manga format. I understand that the anime took the occasional recurring characters and did a season worth of plot about them, but I haven't seen it and thus can't comment.

I can edit the description about the manga (which did come first) if folks want, although the other formats would have to be covered by someone else.

Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.

Go ahead and make a page in the Manga namespace to be about the manga, note that there are adaptations, and turn the Main and Anime pages into redirects. If someone with enough knowledge about the anime/manga differences comes along, they're welcome to split it.

I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.

Bump. I copied some stuff from Wikipedia, which ain't perfect but is better than nothing. I also added the picture Raso found.

Is there any pressing reason to keep this open? I mean, the page ain't the greatest in the world, but it isn't causing problems and no one here seems to know enough about it to expand substantially on what is there. Given the limited number of TRS slots we have to work with, I vote we close down this thread and hope that some avid Boys Be fan comes along to give it some Wiki Magic sometime in the future.
