Yay, snowclones! Anyways, Sega has quite a few interesting series, so I think a Sega Vs Capcom could be pretty cool. My suggestions would be:

  • Vyse from Skies Of Arcadia (Okay, I admit, I've never actually played Skies of Arcadia, but I want to, and I saw Vyse and Aika in Valkyria Chronicles)
  • Selvaria from Valkyria Chronicles (Basically the only Sega series I'm currently interested in, so...)
  • Maybe Bayonetta (I've never played her game, and she would probably up the rating, so I'm not sure if she could be included, but her fighting style, from what I've heard, sounds neat...)
  • Plus the slightly more obvious ones like Sonic, Ni GHTS, etc., although I know I'm still missing a lot of series here.

I don't know if I'll bother with the Capcom side, since it's a part of every Vs Capcom game, obviously, but yeah. Anyone else have any characters they want to see?

Someone from Golden Axe and Breath Of Fire. Possible Ryo as well, for the sake of Ryo vs (either) Ryu.

Sketch Turner, Vector Man, Kid Chameleon, Axel (or if they don't want to be accused of ripping off Ken, Adam or Blaze, maybe Jet or the kickboxing guys from Streets Of Rage too, Joe Musashi, the list goes on.

Edit: Oh, almost forgot, G and The Magician.

Edit Edit: Also forgot: Bowie, Gong, Tao, Balbaroy, or Zylo.

Just played a bit of Gunstar Heroes on X-Box live. Wonder if that would be considered Sega enough for something like this, cause I'd love to see characters from there in a game like this.

Things that I am wanting were this in any way shape or form a reality...

Capcom: Ryu from Breath of Fire or death upon the whole company.

Also Rock.

SEGA: We need Sonic of course. Also the hero from Shining Force 1. His name was Max I believe. We can use Nei from Phantasy Star 2.

How about some Bayonetta?

Also, we need some Capcom Vs representation from Power Stone and Rival Schools.

Vector Man vs Mega Man?

Bayonetta vs Dante?

Ryu (BOF) vs Max?

Guy vs Axel?

Man... it practically writes itself!

It might help if you actually explained why.

It's mainly that most of Sega's "franchises" haven't a new game in almost 10 years and for most of those that have, their most recent installments did so poorly that another entry in the series is unlikely at best. Sonic, Super Monkey Ball, House of the Dead, Valkyrie Chronicles (don't expect it to leave Japan though), and Bayonetta are the only ones I can think of that this doesn't apply to. This leads to Sega crossovers just feeling like Sega patting themselves on the back.

Also, the company's financial woes pretty much ensures that Sonic and licensed games are all we're gonna see for a while.

Asides from Sonic...what else does Sega have? House Of The Dead?

As for what characters...

For Capcom....something from Monster Hunter, Strider, characters from Mega Man Zero, etc.

For Sega....The Magician, The Empress, and...those are the only two I can see working in a fighting game.

There's a reason why the Sonic and Sega All-Star games don't have very few series in them. For the reason you said.

However, if they want to revive series, showing characters from previous ones advertises it as is. Which means more Shining Force, for example.

Likewise, this would be great to see. As long as it's not loaded with tons of Street Fighter and Sonic characters, it could do well.

Kazuma Kiryu. Bayonetta.

That is all. There could be a fighting game with them as the only two playable characters and i'd buy it.

I can name a number of potential fighters under SEGA...
Sonic
Tails
Knuckles
Robotnik
Axel
Roo
AiAi
Vector Man
Max
Bayonetta
Sketch Turner
Toejam
Earl
Ulala
Amigo
Bug
Clockwork Knight

Hell, you could do Street Fighter X Virtua Fighter X Street Fighter.

Aside from SF being waaaaay more superhuman and supernatural than the very realistic VF (barring Dural and maybe Kage), I'd rather see a Sega vs. Capcom. More variety due to more IPs, which means that we don't have to have the same group of characters being oversaturated in terms of appearances.

Nah, but to be real Total War is the only Sega franchise I'm into. So maybe we can have Cyborg George Washington (Empire: Total War) duke it out with Wesker (Resident Evil) for the fate of the universe

I was just thinking about Sega vs Capcom again and how they would have to have special dialogue in the case that both G and Chris are in the game, then I realized: is it just me or does younger G from Overkill look a bit like a brunette Wesker?

Sonic, Tails, and Knux and some Streets Of Rage characters. That's all the thought I've put into the character roster.

I did, though, have the idea of Sonic chasing Robotnik and almost getting arrested for speeding by Chun-Li. They'd exchange some banter and then the fight would begin. If Sonic wins (or loses) he gets fed up and goes, "Ugh, I don't have time for this!" and goes after Robotnik again. Then, when he catches Robotnik, they both get arrested. Sonic for resisting arrest and Robotnik for (insert whatever reason you see fit here).

Oh hell yes, Asura.

If bayonetta were in it, it would be a fight between the two most over the top Action Game Protagonists ever made to date, one Feminine (Bayonetta) one Masculine (Asura)
