The Scourge of God

You know about The Tunguska Event? A big space rock smashed a large hole in the Siberian Taiga back in 1908. It was only the first meteor...

Fast forward some time. 1st of January 19XX (It was between 1909 and 1939) come the rest of the Meteorite Swarm, known as "The Scourge of God".

Civilization is beaten back centuries, if not millenias, earthquakes happen and volcanes errupt as the weak spots of the tectonic plates are by chance the targets of orbital bombardment. In the aftermath are a volcanic and winter causing a mini-ice age.

Fast forward about 1500 years. Humanity are not only ingenious, they breed like rabbits as well and have at this stage managed to once again reach the Renisance/Cavalier Years. And like last time are there a War of Religion going on... In the quite unharmed Mediterranian region did people gather to the strong Catholic church and the area are nowunder control of the Pope-Emperors of The Catholic Roman Empire.

North of the Alps did the guys in charge scavenge whatever was left of Germany and making it into a (relatively) organized state, which was later joined by Jutland, Austria and Bohemia forming The Reich.

Britain lost all its colonies, but they still remember after all these years that they owned 1/4 of the world once, and they plan to retake it all...

North America is covered in city-states and smaller nations, just like 16th century Europe. Yellowstone and among other things The San Andreas fault caused a minor ice-age and whiped out the West Coast...

Magic probably exist, how else would you explain the Werewolf-like Wildermänner änd the fact that one character is a Golem...

No plot yet really.

Sounds cool. At the very least, it sounds like you've done your research (something that I should probably get around to eventually). Also, golems are always a nice touch.

Sounds a lot like The Peshawar Lancers. Or something else S. M. Stirling would write.

Never heard about that book, it seems good though.

I vision my story as The 30 Years war with a few elements of the first few phantoms and even some {{1632}} and Warhammer added to it...

Characters:

• Johan Luther: A BadassPreacher Bohemian-Swiss armed with a mace and a flintlock-pistol, as well as a strong faith. Knows the Good Book by heart.

• Eva Vltava bat Adam/Eva Loew bat Judah: The original about 2000 year old Golem, who happen to be a CuteMonsterGirl. She is almost indestructable and being made from clay give her some shape-shifting powers.

• Wolf Knecht-Pölzl: An Austrian who while still young is a veteran solder from the armies of the Reich. Loyal to his friends and a good fighter. In love with Eva. Aspiring Carthographer and Artist.
