Double post. Another person on Fimfic just added one of my stories to their "MLP and Pokemon" bookshelf. The story in question has absolutely nothing to do with Pokemon.
And, from a few minutes browsing that bookshelf, none of the other stories there have anything to do with Pokemon, either.
Now, that is fascinating. I wonder if it is a joke?
I'm really having trouble trying to get the whole Last Book plotline to work with the war theme. It really just boils down to the protag meeting folks who wonder what's in his saddle bag, only for him to successfully persuade them it's nothing (until he gets mugged by a looter when the city he's defending is sacked). I don't really want to drop it and make it about him going to war, but I don't really know where to take it.
Maybe add in a proper search and seizure event, where the government goes after private book collectors?
@Meta: Huh. That's... I really have no idea what's going on there.

But how to you reconcile it with the whole going to war theme? Or is the gap between the two so great I may as well make two different stories?
Maybe it be like the Titanicus (?) story I remember reading from the Black Library, where it focuses on so many different character groups and their story.
I've tried planning one out, but I've decided I need to focus on a simpler, more straightforward narrative.

New draft is a bit late in coming, but it's also a long one.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiHere's the last chapter of that Vinyltavia fic, for anyone who's interested.
Reaction Image RepositorySo exciting! Broken tooth is scary. :D
And so the circle is complete... I can actually see a parallel to the source material for once!
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty. The main thread's latest round robin fic is complete: Dream On You Crazy Princess. If you have too many brain cells, this is a great way to kill them.
So, that new Rites update... holy crap...
Is it common in fics to have a villain whom we have really been longing to see get comeuppance, and then have Luna come in after the climax and do stuff so dark to them that we still feel uncomfortable? Because not only is this the third time I've seen that, but it's increased by degree each time.
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty.Speaking in Luna's defense on this one, and I got word from CV on this, she is also capable of retrieving him whenever she wants.
In addition, I'm of the opinion that if you got teeth, there's no point to them if you're not going to use them. So if you have these Max-Sec prisons built in your country and you have criminals who just keep adding crimes to themselves while on trial, the whole idea of Max-Sec feels moot if they're just gonna be left empty.
Then again, Tartarus is more like Supermax prison. And while Esteem's punishment is a bit cringeworthy, keep in mind what the guy's done.
The moral hypocrisy left a bad enough taste in my mouth that I'm dropping Rites. I feel dirty after reading that, like that one fanfiction where Luna ate Blueblood for pissing her off and nobody blinked an eye.

@Yami: Yeah, part of the theme was to keep the whole "circular" theme of the original album. I was tempted to make the final chapter outrageously long to fit with the last song of the album, but I thought that would be overkill. And too much of a pain to write.
Reaction Image RepositoryHaven't heard of that one. Sounds like a crackfic, really, though I guess it's not or it wouldn't actually be that offensive.
Though would you be surprised to know one of the other instances did involve Blueblood (who, again, had very much earned some kind of punishment)? And that one made me feel a bit dirty too, though that's probably not unintentional (Applejack helped- did most of the dirty work, really- and she was certainly affected).
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty. Now that Octaves is finished, I really need to finish my ponified Pitchfork fic.
WHAT!?
It was The Return of Princess Nightmare Moon. And I guess it was Nightmare Moon instead of Luna because there is no Luna in that story. Among the things it had that it was playing seriously were:
1. The epic war between Celestia and Nightmare Moon that killed countless ponies and divided Equestria was pointless because neither of them can be killed.
2. Nightmare Moon shrunk Blueblood down and ate him because he had the nerve to romantically pursue Twilight. Twilight promptly flipped the fuck out and got Celestia, who made her vomit him back up and return him back to normal size. Nobody, including Blueblood, regards this as that big a deal after it's all taken care of. There is no mental trauma or distrust resulting from this incident.
3. Nightmare Moon eventually apologized and gave him a spectacularly extravagant gift in recompense, but only because she was hoping he'd use it to try and mindrape Twilight and give her an excuse to finish the job.
4. In the past, criminals were executed by chaining them outside on Nightmare Night, anyone not safely inside their homes on that night was free game for her to eat. This was Celestia approved.
And those are just the points I can remember.

Huh, odd.
Dammit. All of a sudden I feel like I need to start working on A Still More Glorious Dawn Awaits again.
I published a few more short stories in my odds-and-ends collection. "The Longest Line" is about alternate universes and the afterlife. "I Am the Night ... Glider" is my story about Night Glider getting her terrible revenge against Starlight Glimmer. "Domains" is about Luna's Moon, Celestia's Sun, and the difficulties of being the Only Sane Alicorn.
