Dangit Meta, you keep ninja-ing me when it comes to my own fic.
Okay, I updated the chapter so it's basically complete now.

Reaction Image RepositoryPlot Bunny: One day, Sunset Shimmer stumbles across her actual EQG counterpart—who thinks the two are identical twins. EQG Sunset—Shimmer, for the sake of Clarity—had been given up for adoption, and met sunset by chance while investigating her Birth Parents. She still loves her adopted parents, but feels a pull to find out where she's from.
Shimmer is elated to 'discover' she's a 'twin', and winds up dragging sunset into meeting her family, and into the search for 'their' biological parents.
The trouble is, Sunset had also been given up for adoption back in Equestria. And with a Princess on her side, she had a much easier time tracking down her birth parents. The meeting was... less than ideal. So Sunset is reluctant to go along with the search, because she doesn't want Shimmer being hurt if their EQG parents turn out to be as bad as their Equestrian parents. And also, because finding them would inevitably blow the lid off the whole 'twins' thing, which Sunset has been keeping up in part to keep the whole 'Alternate Universe' thing from spreading too far and wide(Because of the issues it caused during Friendship Games), and also because she... kinda likes having a family.
She spent years in the EQG-verse with nopony to relate to or talk to, and definitely no family. Even after forming friendships, she still lived pretty much alone, and it turned out that family was pretty nice.
Eeeeeeh feels like there's some pretty heavy cliche hanging around there, and I'm not super fond of plots that rely on One Giant Lie like that. Still, I like the core idea of Shimmer thinking she and Sunset are Twins. I may keep stewing on it.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Of course, the biggest cliché of a One Big Lie plot is that the lie gets uncovered at the worst possible moment, in the worst possible way, so there can be a huge, dramatic meltdown before everything gets resolved. So if your Sunset comes clean about the lie before it can blow up, that would go a long way towards making it less clichéd.
I didn't write any of that. What he said. Maybe you could come at it from the angle of Sunset attempting to explain the situation to her early self early on, only for EQG Sunset to not believer because... come on, it's a pretty ridiculous story and if EQG Sunset wasn't there for the weirdness she's going to be pretty skeptical.
Reaction Image RepositoryReading Chasing Paradox, right now. It’s basically an "I Can’t Believe It’s Not Doctor Who" story, which is an interesting approach to take.
Writing this down so I don't forget...
Cor d'Harmonie and Didgeridoo were both immigrants to Equestria, fleeing from desperate times in their respective homes for a better life. Out of desperation, they joined the circus and met there. Though they were from different countries, they bonded over being strange ponies in a strange land. They courted and married.
Their daughter, Cornet, was born into the circus and was a part of it since then. She loved it and, after marrying Bugle The Clown, she taught her children to love it too. She loved it so dearly, that she worked and wormed her way into every aspect of it. When the owner died childless, she was the only clear choice to take the reigns.
Her sons are the inheritors of her will. Their younger sister, Tuba, was never nearly as ambitious and contented herself in being the star strong mare. They remade and revitalized the business, renaming it Trumpet & Trumbone's Travelling Circus. With Trumpet's showmanship and Trumbone's business savvy, they made a hit success for years.
However, times have been tough as of recent. Money has been slow to come and the bills have been piling up. Trumbone dare not confide in Trumpet, afraid to break his cheery brother's heart. Instead, he tells Tuba and she offers the only solution she can think off, to use muscle and brute force. So Trumbone gathers all the willing scariest customers the circus has gathered into their family and makes deals with shady characters to sell their services on the side as intimidating muscle. It's worked, barely, and Trumbone fears he's getting his boys locked up in grimier and grimier things.
So, I just read a oneshot which I found via the MLP Fan Works Awesome Moments page, and realized only at almost the end that it was the same one Meta mentioned a while back.
...so, what about it was so bad?
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty. The story itself was fine, for the most part. It's just that particular Lemony Narrator really got on my nerves. Took fifty words to describe stuff where ten words would have sufficed, without conveying any extra information or jokes to justify the rambling. Or at least, I didn't think the narrator's jokes were funny.
I didn't write any of that.YMMV, it seems.
Part 3 to The Evening Before Next Mother's Day is finished. This is is the last part, so I just have to go back, do the last editing and compile everything to submit it to FIMFiction.

[Human]/[Alternate Universe] Here is where humans make their cameo appearance. This is NOT a Human In Equestria story, this is just a story where some humans happen to be in Equestria. They're just another race that happens to be running around.
[Comedy]/[Slice-Of-Life]The main thrust of it. All they do is talk and, I'm hoping, it's funny.
[Sex]/[Romance]: Danny/Surprise, mah OTP. That aside, lots of Shippers On Deck discussion unable to get past my favorite ship, Unrequited, and talking about some sex stuff because I'm a firm believer in ponies being nothing but mammals.
So that's 28 pages, ~9200 words. Here's Part 1, which I still need to go through all the editing suggestions for, and the longer Part 2, which desperately could use some more editing comments, cause I doubt it's so near perfect.

Okay, finished the final chapter of that Spike fic, for anybody who wants to look it over real quick before I publish.
Reaction Image RepositoryI see A Route Obscure and Lonely is still marked "incomplete". Is that just an oversight, or do you have another epilogue planned?
I didn't write any of that.Kinda, abrupt, the end.
Whoops. I could've sworn I changed it. Will fix.
Yeah, I realize it kinda ends super quick, but I couldn't think of any way to draw it out without it feeling like filler. If you have suggestions I could still do some edits to make it a bit more climactic.
Reaction Image RepositoryCurrently in the featured box: The Power of Muffins, a really cute feel-good story about Derpy's special talent and her unique application of pegasus magic.
But screw that. Instead, you should read an earlier fic by the same author that doesn't have nearly enough love: Final Mission. It's another fic you could call a Bizarro Universe take on Background Pony. The author said he was aiming for something different from BP, and he certainly hit it. Aside from the fact that it's Bon Bon this time who's being erased from reality, there's also the fact that everything moves at a much brisker pace. It's got a lot of twists and turns for a story just under 50 thousand words, yet Bon Bon takes these curveballs surprisingly well. Owing to her background as a secret agent, this version of the character has a refreshing no-nonsense attitude, a bare minimum of angst, and fierce tenacity—which, ironically, leads directly to her downfall.
Yeah, it's got the Tragedy tag, and it certainly earns it, but it's surprisingly light for a tragedy. It even manages to end on a real "Hell yeah!" moment. And not only is this ending less depressing than Background Pony, but it's less of an Ass Pull, to boot.
I didn't write any of that.So Angel Wings has me thinking of a Reader Insert Fic titled "Your Fly In April"
I lost count of the days... forgot that had been going for nearly two years.
Finally started reading the Days of Wasp and Spider sequel; it's a pity that Seraphem's gone. Also resumed Under the Northern Lights, again; trying not to binge them too much should actually keep my interest longer.
Also started on some of Cynewulf's early stories to lead into The Night is Passing, since they take place in the same multiverse or whatever. Good characterization, at least, and a lot less purple prosey than the more recent ones.
...Oh hey, Tangled Roots and What Hath Joined Together are from the same (apparently vanished, sadly) author. Her Rarijack one-shot was wonderful, so more reason to look forward to that.

There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty. What if Celest-AI met somebody whose values would only be satisfied if they knew the complete and exact value of some absurdly high number at least as high as Graham's Number like SCG(13) without resorting to cheats like the Up Arrow Notation, i.e. they must know every single digit of it without any abbreviations, loopholes or abridgements?

Halper's Law: as the length of an online discussion of minority groups increases, the probability of "SJW" or variations being used = 1.Yeah, Bad_Seed_72 hasn't shown up in a while. She says it's because she's no longer interested in the ponies anymore. She has promised, though, that WHJT will be finished, no matter what.
Mostly, she started quitting after reading too much of Reality Check's anti-homosexuality blogs, and she's homosexual herself.
Oh good, because he needed that final homophobic nail in the coffin.
Ugh. Ralph Hayes Jr was one of the most influential artists to me in my childhood. I love Tales Of The Questor. It's been so disappointing to learn what a fucking knob he is.

Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.I don't know who Celest-AI is, but given that such numbers cannot be communicated between two people within the life span of the universe.
Yeah, Ralph is a knob goblin.

Technically, I suppose if granted permission she could modify his mind to contain the whole number, to retrieve digits as necessary, etc. She'd at least have an excuse to bring up the subject.
See Friendship is Optimal. In brief, a hyperintelligent and -adaptable AI patterned after a particular Hasbro property who was given the directive of satisfying humans' values through friendship and ponies, and will do anything within her parameters to fulfill it to its fullest.

There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty. There’s nothing like reading a very unsettling Body Horror fanfic... only for the horror to turn into comedy when you realize the whole thing is a joke origin for the Equestria Girls universe.
I didn't write any of that.
It took two years, but the latest Dear Sweetie Belle installment has finally completed.
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty.
