Porting Disasters

This is a thread to talk about Porting Disasters. If you didn't already know, a Porting Disaster is a bad port of a video game. Remember though, you have to give legitimate reasons on why the port your mentioning is an awful port. You can't just say "OH THIS PORT SUCKS" without giving reasons. That would just derail this thread into a complaint thread. Anyways, lets begin. I'll start with the GBA port of Earthworm Jim. Most attempts at porting SNES and Genesis games to the GBA had disastrous results, although there are a few exceptions such as the GBA port of The Lost Vikings which from the looks of it is actually a pretty good and faithful port of the SNES version, but this port however is definitely not an exception. Earthworm Jim on the GBA is basically a horrendous attempt at porting the SNES version. First off, the framerate is mediocre and tons of sprite animations are cut out of the game making it not look like a traditionally animated cartoon anymore, it has poor quality and badly compressed graphics, the physics and jumping mechanics are awful, the controls are bad, the "Andy Asteroids" levels lose their cool 3D-ish effect, the "Helicopter Head" and ray gun firing sound effects are replaced with awful and muffled sounds and the remaining sounds from the original game are distorted and have their pitch changed, and the music is bad and distorted versions of the SNES version's music. You know something has gone horribly wrong when the Gameboy version is superior to the GBA version. Here's a video of the abomination of a port.

I forgot to mention that I've actually beaten this port before. My god was it awful.

Um, this could be interpreted as a complaint thread...

Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.

Its more like the "Terrible Cartoons" thread in Western Animation. It usually only counts as a complaint thread if your not giving reasons on why the port/cartoon is bad.
