Have we seen them hit by anything but small arms?
Fight smart, not fair. Some C4 delivered via shopping cart. It took it out, but we didn't get to see what the remains looked like.
So, the armor is proof against, what, 7.62 and less? We haven't seen them go at one with the M2 yet.
Fight smart, not fair.So what did you guys think? I kind of liked the episode. It took a dark turn when the Mech executed the row of children, but thankfully Pope remains to be a great character.
"Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person that doesn't get it."Liking it so far.
Fight smart, not fair.Aliens have invaded the world, nuked most major cities, wiped out the professional military, and enslaved every child they can get their hands on. If it wasn't dark it wouldn't be living up to the premise.
"Tyyr's a necessary evil. " SpiritThe skitter sounds in this episode sounded like they reused the velociraptor sounds from Jurassic Park.
Oh, Pope, I love you. Escaping captivity just to fry some skitters? Awesome!
"Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person that doesn't get it."I, of course, am digging the Velociraptor noise.
Also, there needs to be more Maggie. I don't like Pope, in fact, I think I hate the bastard but I "can" admit that I'm entertained by him.

Rawrz?Okay, they really need to drop the stuff about kids. It's rather boring, in my opinion. I DEMAND MOAR PLOT.
"Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person that doesn't get it."Hopefully that will be it. However, I seriously doubt it. I'm betting they do a lot more drama because it's cheaper than alien CG.
Fight smart, not fair.So... did I miss something, or have they not even mentioned the fact that Karen was taken captive in the last couple of episodes?
I would understand if there was at least some kind of exposition giving a justification of why they can't look for her right now, but otherwise it seems like she ceased to exist since she's been off-screen.

Guesses:
2) They'll rescue her in a bit.
3) She'll come back later as a villain of some kind.
Fight smart, not fair.I hope it's not the first one, since I like her character.
If it is, I hope they at least give us some kind of resolution to the storyline.
Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project!I suppose it's possible that it was supposed to be an Anyone Can Die thing, but you generally just shoot those characters, not drag them off screen. I suppose they could find her corpse in a few episodes as some kind of Wham Episode or something, but that seems unfitting for the feel of the series.
Fight smart, not fair.Does anyone else find it annoying how Tom keeps pointing out that the aliens are "just like us" based on them doing something comparable to human behavior and completely ignores all the other ways they aren't like us? I mean, couldn't the Skitters be doing that not because their behavior is instinctively human-like but because they understand exactly how to get a reaction from humans?
Yes. I'm personally hoping for character development where he learns that that mentality is bullshit. Unfortunately, the way it's presented strikes me as An Aesop of the series. I find it more unrealistic that his history knowledge led to him being in charge of a tactical unit. History teaches strategy much better than tactics.
Fight smart, not fair.yhea, unfortunatly, the lession history actually teaches about their situation is that they are completely screwed unless they can get some outside help... Eh, actually, that would be a good plot arc. The resistance trying to steal communications gear, or an actual ship from the skitters to see if there is, in fact, help to be gotten from enemies of the skitters. - I mean, given their assholes-from-space MO, they've got to have enemies, right?
I can't help but worry that this will end with An Aesop about learning about the aliens and negotiating a peace instead of with large amounts of explosions.
Fight smart, not fair.Sorry, new accounts cannot post external links.
For those discussing that there are other aliens involved: This was seen in preview of the whole season-there is some kind of grey alien kind of thing in one moment(there's a screenshot posted of that alien in Series Falling Skies Discussion)
It's either some new alien or mutated kid.
However-the short synopsis for all the seasons episodes are available on some sites and one definitely speaks about encountering new alien being in last episode.
And for yet another week, no mention of Karen. No one even thought to ask Ben, who was part of the group of harness kids dragging her off, if he knew anything about what ultimately happened to her.
All in all though, I did think it was a good episode. Was the kid at the end the same one that was with the parents that tried to escape at the beginning of the episode?
Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project!I would just like to say taht I predicted the plot twist at the end of the episode.
Also, WHY ARE THEY CONTINUING WITH THIS BORING-ASS CHILDREN PLOTLINE.
"Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person that doesn't get it."My view is further cemented that she had Creative Differences with the other cast members. Either that or it was a really shitty attempt to try and invoke Anyone Can Die (off camera).
Theory: the skitters are actually here to protect us from another, eviler, race, and humanity screwed up and the skitters decided that the only way to protect the human species was to wipe out all the adults and save the children. The thingies they're building are giant shield generators or some such. But that would assume that it's trying to do something interesting.
Fight smart, not fair.
You can make something super spindly yes, but then when you want to have it be a believable combat unit things start getting squirrelly.
