You know, this game?

I ask, because something I heard about it has been bugging me, and I can't quite wrap my head around it.

See, I heard that there were points or something where you see animals performing plays based on recent plot events, and wondered what exactly that was all about.

The only thing I remember about it was the D&D bonus movie after the credits. (Something I want to see again but cant find it on Youtube.)

Played it. Didn't get far. Still had fun. Wish i found the sequel on the Game Cube. Hated the Protaganist.

^^

^I have the PS 2 demo of the sequel. Granted, I can't experience any voice-acting because the demo is glitched. ;_;

Hmm… I played the Mac port of the first one, and can't remember anything like that. Some of the backstory cutscenes were narrated to tapestry or stained glass montages, but I can't recall any done as plays (though there was a theater in the game, you never see it perform.) Perhaps that's something from the sequel?

I've played the game several times (It's one of my favourite games) and I believe that you're talking about an encounter in Orenia just outside Wolong where these people act out what people call "The Battle of Wolong", I have never seen it myself but I guess if it's been talked about a lot then there might be something to it.

I played the sequel, and I found it to be kinda obnoxious, insofar as I had to run and talk to everybody in the world after every significant event to make sure I had all the upgrade items, and sometimes I needed to do that for the main quest. A lot of backtracking vs. action.

That said, the action was fairly fun.

[up][up]Yep, that sounds like it.

I'd been wondering about it for a while now. Never played the game myself, but there was this thread on Game FA Qs I lurked a few years ago, talking about all sorts of weird things in video games. That one for whatever reason stuck in my mind.

It is a fun game for an early PS 2 RPG, I enjoyed it for the plot, locations and music, god that music was awesome.

  • revives thread*

This was my first PS 2 game so I have a soft spot. I really liked the main city...the slums were actually slummy and I loved the overall atmosphere. Joseph was an idiot (yeah, put your hand in the fire) but I liked the other protagonists. Largely because two had totally valid reasons for disliking Joseph. In my headcanon, Flece and Jekhar got together afterward.

I liked the atmosphere of the first game more, but Summoner 2 had a much better protagonist. Though I disliked becoming a summon instead of...summoning one. It was fun to run your kingdom.

I tried the first one, but the battle system and loading just turned me off. I was really interested, but I just couldn't figure it out.

The first game was surprisingly fun to play once I got used to the combat and attack-chaining systems, which didn't take too long.
