... Oh dear god it's already started.
I was referring to Index's brattyness and insistence on being fed, but you make a scary point...
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialThe only thing that really stands out is the ED. Otherwise average at best
...Gosick is better so far.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."... "Yes-su."
Lovely engrish, right there. It's like there trying to say, "Look, look, it really is set in england!"

BYOON~!Oh wow, one of the best "Does This Remind You Of Anything" I've ever seen (ep 1, 17:50): Guy puts his key in girl's lock; a red liquid spurts out.
^Eh, she's already had at least one Keykeeper before.
To make it worse, he shoves his entire fist in there afterwards.

GOH! JII! RAH!Well I'm disappointed. It feels like a combination of a couple of series that I've seen and know. The ED was freaky though.
Follow me on tumblr! You should see some of the illustrations in the novel...
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Gotta love that ED.

Don't mind me. I'm just a creepy little lurker.Great, now any ideas what the hell happens in it?
Follow me on tumblr!Oh Jesus don't remind of about the ED.....

GOH! JII! RAH!So....what's the actual plot of this? Huey and Dalian go around retrieving Phantom books? I suppose that might be interesting...possibly.
I'm curious about Gainax's choice to mix in realistic looking shots with animation, but...okay. I guess they can do what they want.
I don't dislike Dalian, but she just feels like a variant of the sharp-tongued-kuudere-girl type. However, it is just the first episode so I'm going to give them some slack. Huey is okay, but we don't know much about him yet either. At least he's smart enough to bring a gun, unlike many protagonists.
Tumblr here.I guess the show's good enough to watch. Still trying to ease in into this thing, though. It helps that this isn't as... "Gosick" as I had assumed.
Exceeds my expectations. This is a good anime.
...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuI just watched the first episode and I must say that I really like the look of this series. I like both the main character and Dalian and I feel that it definitely has some potential.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellThe best thing about the show so far is the ED...I'm still not quite sure how they defeated the dragon.
But there's one thing I still don't get...there was a bit of news a while ago that Gainax was trying to get international talents to get the setting right or something...
Yet, just from watching the first episode...appearance wise, there's nothing too special about it. Nothing a quick googling or opening a book couldn't have done...it looks like a slightly more magical Gosick so far.
So...what was the purpose in hiring people around the world for this?

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."^Dunno. Maybe they hired a bunch of Brits for voice acting but stations wouldn't air it if it wasn't in Japanese.
It looks like they wanted someone to take pictures for them. The stuff you find on image searches isn't actually copyright free
Seemed kinda pointless. Would be interesting if characters frequently shouted "tally-ho!" though.
Not too sure what to think of this anime so far tbh. There are good points to it, but they're so brief and minor. I like Dalian. But I really dislike Hugh as a main male lead though.
Kujo was much better imo. He had his "fish out of water" thing going on, with people pointing out the weirdness of his black hair, his "reaper coming in the spring time" stories surrounding him just because he's the one and only asian character in fictional french country* Hugh is so....bleh.
Oh, and for some reason...I really like the dragon's fire breath. It appears to be really well animated somehow...it's a minor thing, and didn't last long, but I paid extra attention during that short scene.
Same goes for the knife nut when they first entered, but that was brief too...
And the ED was pretty cool.
And that's the problem I guess. The cool parts were too brief. I wish they had more action scenes fighting against the guy with the knives. I wish they showed off that dragon more. And I the way they defeated the dragon was a bit anticlimatic.
This does make me think...an anime of Castlevania Portrait Of Ruin would be pretty cool...assuming they put the time and effort in animating the "war-torn country/demon circus hybrid" world.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."I hope that it finds itself a Gainax Ending...
If you eat a live frog in the morning, nothing worse will happen to either of you for the rest of the day.I'd say to give this some time. It might Grow A Beard soon/
Watch SymphogearWhoah that's... Some of the most freudian thing I've seen in a while. Almost as much as Utena. I mean, Hugh inserting his key into Dalian while she gasps and moans? That's the least subtle thing ever :p
I like it!
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntI found the episode really, really good, but I guess I'm in a minority on that.
I guess it is.
another what? Human Library?
BYOON~!
