I should mention that Bowser's Inside Story is more readily available in retail. I managed to buy a used copy of that without difficulty while I had to use the Wii U eshop to buy Partners in Time.
Hence needing a remake sooner than BIS.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Better game = rerelease gets better sales.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Pretty much what said. Partners in Time's reception was likely a factor why it won't be getting a remake just yet.
PiT needs no remake...
Nintendo made the wrong decision to skip it...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Now I'm actually rather fond of Partners in Time, having no issue with most people's problems (world design, difficulty, etc.). But there's no denying that Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story are the most beloved entries of the franchise (and I agree in regards to BiS. But both DS entries hold up fine on the 3DS, so I honestly think it's a project just meant to give Alphadream something to do before they're ready to make the Switch.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. My only real issues with PIT are the Bros. Items and lack of non-story-related content. The difficulty never bothered me.
I'd still consider it weaker than SS and BIS, but I always liked its grimmer story, music and artstyle, boss battles, dungeon design, and antagonists.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Yeah, the Bros. Items were kind of a let-down compared to the Special Moves in Bower's Inside Story and Superstar Saga. Chuggaaconroy's LP of Partners in Time even mentioned that there's no Bonus Boss in Hollijolli Village after clearing the Star Shrine.

I still like SS's Bros. Moves best.
No items with overly-long animations or gimmicky inputs. Just quick, cool-looking team attacks.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I was thinking of what a dream Paper Mario game would be:
- The world design of 64
- The gameplay of Thousand Year Door
- The story of Super
- The comedy of Color Splash
but what element from Sticker Star?

Portability.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. The Switch IS portable.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! Then it's perfect! I'd play the shit out of that, honestly.
Well, it's made out of only positive things...
Who wouldn't play it has no soul to sell...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Well then, my nightmare Paper Mario:
- 64's plot
- 1KD's World design
- Super's Gameplay
- Sticker Star's Battle System
- Color Splash's "Party"
Well, it's made out of only positive stuff...
I'm not sure where the nightmare is...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Colour Splash's party is better than Sticker Star's. There's the enemy cards, plus Huey is faaaar less annoying than Kersti.
Heart of StoneColor Splash pretty much middle fingered the idea of a party of actual characters like 64 and 1KD, so that's why I choose it.
Designing a "nightmare" Paper Mario title that combines the worst part of each game is tough because just about every low point of 64, TTYD, SPM, and even Color Splash was already done worse by Sticker Star. Sticker Star IS the nightmare Paper Mario.
- 64's plot is fairly minimal but it works very well and is backed up by strong characters, whereas Sticker Star's managed to be way worse.
- I'll have to disagree on TTYD's world design being bad, but either way it's gotta be better than Sticker Star's NSMB environments.
- SPM was a departure from the turn-based combat yet Sticker Star's combat manages to be much worse.
- Color Splash has a minimalist cast and only Huey as your partner, but it's still a more diverse crowd than Sticker Star's and Huey is way better than Kersti.
I agree on Huey being way better than Kersti. Huey's got legit hilarious lines, while Kersti was just a bummer the whole way through. Also, her help ranged from vaguely helpful to "why am I even asking you?"
I actually don't mind Sticker Star's Battle System that much outside of the boss battles.
The problem with 1KD's world design is that there's too much backtracking (General White, Chapter 4 as a whole) and the environment is more "Go left or right" than the "go left, right, up, down, and diagonally" design of 64. Sticker Star does the latter too, but it generally lacks backtracking unless you want to fill the museum.
I didn't like Super's Gameplay because it felt too much like a platformer. Paper Mario shouldn't be a platformer. Stuff like the Bowser segments of 1KD aside, of course.

Ah, yeah, those are fair points to criticize TTYD over. I thought you meant the environmental aesthetics themselves were bad.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Man, imagine if we got a new Paper Mario with a dark storyline (as in really dark, so that Super would look like a fairy tale), a new villain who was actually good, and a turn-based battle system that was just as good as TTYD while still being its own thing. I'd be willing to forgive Nintendo for all of their past mistakes if they made that.
A great Mascot Mook.while personally I don't mind that TTYD's environments are mostly straight lines, the backtracking is pretty bad in that game.
Also, I'm not a fan of the Battle Roulette that TTYD has, especially after it caused one of my runs in the Pit of 100 Trials to end. I swear that thing is rigged to give you the third Poison Mushroom if there's two already.
Mario games don't need a dark storyline, though, imo. I'd just be happy with ANYTHING that's not "Bowser/someone else kidnaps Peach, go save her" as the plot.

Um, Partners in Time didn't really sell very much and reception was mixed at best.
