General Mario Thread

x6 That's called the Hat in Hand glitch and can be done in any course that has a hat box. Aside from being exceptionally silly, it's main purpose is to let you carry objects without updating the HOLP (Held Object's Last Position). More information on the Hat in Hand glitch can be found here and more information about the HOLP can be found all over that channel.

I mostly do it for the "exceptionally silly" part.

Also like how it becomes a pile of hats rather than just one hat.

One meme that stuck hard with me was intepreting Mario's high-pitched kiai in Smash as something akin to Bruce Lee's Jeet Kun Do kiai.

It's supposed to be a haunted mansion and all the npcs are still fucking Toads.

I hate Toad more than ever now, even more than his first "Your princess is in another castle!" appearance.

I'm not upset about the Toads because we have seen more variety in them in other areas. Plus the ghost Toads are a thing. XD

Hell yes.

Yes yes, it's still the same game you don't like, but just enjoy the pig for a moment.

Man, it's a shame we're probably not seeing any more of this kinda thing- The N64 was the last console that had games that were simple enough to break in interesting ways instead of just dying.

Newer games can have their fair share of interesting glitches and bizarreness, though; see any of the really bizarre speedrunning tricks for Pikmin 2 or 3, for example?

Yeah, just go check on the Son of a Glitch videos by A+Start. He's done a bunch of modern games and a bunch of them have really cool glitches.

In particular, his episode on Uncharted surprised me. There's a ridiculous glitch that can be used through the whole game to skip a bunch of areas by aiming on and off in succession.
