It's a shame you can't shove Bowser into a Bullet Bill Launcher.

Started to hyperventilate when I saw the trailer for Paper Jam.

I didn't even play most of the Paper Marios and I love this idea.

[up] I actually did, too, and I haven't played a whole lot of Paper Mario either. (I've played the N64 original some.)

[up][up][up]Yet 3-Bowser Towers are not outside the realm of possibility.

It's nice they let him keep his proper colors in the World style, instead of that unfortunate palette of his from the same game.

You can put him in a Clown Car just like any other enemy.

In any style, even- The Clown Car has new Retraux sprites made and everything. No clue if it'll be possible to force a Bowser-in-Clown-Car boss pattern or if you're stuck with jumps-and-breaths-fire-BUT-NOW-YOU-FLOAT, though.

I really hope you can feed the Clown Car a Poison Mushroom to turn it into the Junior Clown Car- Jr.'s in every style now, and he's become pretty strongly associated with machines at this point. It'd be a shame if you couldn't cap off an Airship stage with a Junior-in-Junior-Clown-Car fight.

I've seen footage of Jr. doing the duck-in-then-toss-stuff move with Koopa shells. They definitely have different behavior in the Clown Car.

@Marioguy: I know. I've beaten the game before, I was just making sure I wasn't forgetting anything. Also, ignoring the saucer segment and the cutscenes, the final battles took about 15-20 minutes all together since I had godly offence (I did about 1200 damage to Elder Princess Shroob Phase 1 with one Bros Item three times then just nuked her with the Mix Flower on Phase 2).

Then I immediately went on to Bower's Inside Story and that game is still so good. The sprite work is exquisite, the music has more energy (not to say any song in this series is bad), everything is just so perfect; I love it.

So thanks to some e-shop points and a previous purchase on the Wii, I now have Paper Mario for Wii U.

Never beaten this game (got far in the Wii version, but never finished), so I'm hoping to pull it off this time.

What I do need to know is any advice on quickly gaining levels so I can have enough health and flower points to be able to do stuff? That's always been a problem I've had when playing this game.

It's a simple as kill absolutely every enemy you run across. Do that and you should be fine. Also, I'd say BP may be a TAD more important than HP, depending. You can get away with putting fewer levels into it than you do the other two.

If I'm remembering correctly. It's been a while since I played the game.

Thanks. I'll focus on badge points then from now on.

I put my first level up into Flower points, but I'll switch to badge points so I can use as many as possible (which makes sense really).

Yeah, that's the thing about the first two Paper Mario games- BP is preferable because it both allows for extra abilities and can be converted into HP or FP with badges, while HP and FP are strictly what they are. Mind, you probably should invest in all three to some extent or another- It's mostly not too hard a game but some of the bosses can be tricky, especially if you don't get the defending action commands' timing down.

I sure said that!

If you're new to it you'll want to invest in all three stats fairly evenly. Shore up your HP if you're having trouble keeping it up, and shore up your FP or BP if you feel you aren't dealing enough damage.

Also, I recommend equipping the Pay-Off, Refund, and Money Money badges early. Makes buying out the badge shop a cinch.

You know, I have to say that Bowser's Inside Story is harder than the previous games, as far as playing as Mario and Luigi goes. The timing on your standard attacks is a lot stricter for maximum damage and the bonus wheel is nowhere near as good so boosting two or three of your stats to godly levels is difficult at best.

Honestly, I think this is actually a point against the game because it makes battles take a lot longer than in the previous two games.

I think the bonus wheel in Bi S was better than Partners in Time, the way the pattern was and the higher numbers being grouped together actually made it a lot easier to give a significant stat boost.

Though regarding the timing for action commands, I think it's much easier to get use to the timing for the hammer than it is for the jumps. I think it's just impossible to to pull off Excellent jumps consistently. That just gets annoying later on.

They fixed the timing in Dream Team, comparisons I did make and it was just so much easier.

To some extent, I think part of it is that, overall, the enemy stats were formulated with Bowser in mind, even in the case of enemies that Bowser simply never can fight.

[up]x3 If you think BIS is hard, you haven't seen Dream Team. Which is basically an exercise in crowd control with Mario Bros. getting only one action per turn in the dream world. And don't get me started on the bosses...

I find the Jump in BIS easy. The hammer is sorta tricky to me.

And the main problem with BIS's enemies is that there's some areas that have the awful combination of having very few enemy types and said enemy types having huge health pools.

Like Bowser Path's endless horde of Chain Chawfuls, or that cave with all the Choombas.

Though the Choombas are at least kinda amusing.

... I really wish more enemies from the RPGs managed returns for the platformers. Certainly not all or even most of them, of course, but it was neat seeing Tanoombas again in 3D Land.

My brother will go on at great length how Clefts would fit perfectly into a mainline Mario game. I think he means design wise because I don't see how you'd kill one in a platformer. I think the only enemies introduced in Legend of the Seven Stars to appear in games afterwards were the Shamans, who came back as Merlon and his extended family.

I don't have any real problems with the consistently getting the Excellent timing on any regular attack but I mess up far more than I do in the previous games. The commands for some of the Bros. Items also feel a bit more intense than the previous games but some of them also feel easier (Magic Window is MUCH easier than Trampoline or Copy Flower due to having only two Bros, for instance). Also, with the bonus wheel, I've consistently gotten 1s on, like, the past five levels for Mario and Luigi regardless of what it looked like. My Power, BP, and Stache are far lower than what I want them to be (seriously, Bowser already has the Level 3 scratch cards while Mario and Luigi are still at Level 1).
