X3 That sounds really interesting. Tell me more.

I also had the idea that whenever an character gains an item, they gain a new special super attack. The feather cape give the user a "Maximum Spider"-esque flying attack, the tanooki suit gives the user a super tailspin combo into a statue stomp, the fire flower gives the user a DBZ-esque fireball barrage, the megavitamin gives the user the ability to drop a shower of megavitamins that then combo into matching colors for each hit, etc...

There're also so many locations to make stages out of:

World 1-1, Bowser's Castle, Subcon, Giant Land, Twin Bridges, Sarasaland, Tick-Tock Clock, Delfino Plaza, Snowball Slalom, Good Egg Galaxy, 3-D Land, Icicle Caverns, Great Tower, Yoshi's Island, Sewers, Wrecking Site, 100-m Girders, Kongo Jungle, Lost Mangroves, Rice Beach, Diamond City and Wario Colosseum.

Why not make it a Stylish Hack-and-Slash/Brawler game? The world can use more of those.

Waluigi's could be Wall-Luigi.

That would seem kind of odd for Mario...

@Zel: I already pitched the Mushroom Kingdom Warriors idea, but nobody liked it.

I was thinking more along the lines of Devil May Cry and Bayonetta.

Well, that'd be even less fitting.

So? If Smash Bros never existed, do you think having Mario characters in a fighting game would sound fitting?

They should make one of those starring Captain Falcon.

...so why would you want a game in a series that runs wholly counter to the series' entire atmosphere and premise?

And whatever you think of Smash, it's hardly a conventional fighter. Don't even try to invoke that.

Now there's an idea I can get behind.

Just because it would have gameplay similar to those two series doesn't mean it would have the atmosphere. Also, Smash Bros is still classified as a Fighting game. A subtype of that genre (that I think it created), sure, but still a part of that genre.

Of course it doesn't, but I really can't imagine how that style of gameplay could mesh with the Mario universe at all.

Mind you, if they actually by some miracle of heaven made it work, I wouldn't be opposed to that, but it's such a far-fetched idea.

I'm not a fan, as it happens... Still, I get your point. Like I said, if it was done, and it worked, that would be fantastic. No argument here.

It's not like I want some sort of super-complex King of Street Tekken fighting game, I just want a fun Power Stone-like Mario game, except with bigger stages and flashier moves.

I think that would be neat.

Does anyone find it weird that even though Miyamoto has retconned the Koopalings' status as Bowser's children, they're still constantly grouping them with Bowser Jr.? It makes me wonder what the whole point of that was...

I don't know, it makes a reasonable amount of sense to me that the group of Bowser's strongest minions would be led by the one he trusts the most - ie, his son.

For the longest time I was convinced that Pauline and Captain Syrup were the same person.

When did you realize they weren't?

I dunno. XD Syrup's hair changed color to a more red brown in her most recent game.

So this is by and large a very cool concept.

Dunno if they guy is still working on it, though.

Why isn't that a real game? I want it to be a real game.
