She didn't have much character in 3D World, but I can forgive that because she was far-and-away the most fun character to play as.
Unless Flip-Swap Panels are involved. >~<

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI knew I forgot one...
She was useful in SML 3 D. Her double jump and unarmed spin attack helped me a lot. Not in the very last stage of the very last world, but close.
I still haven't beaten that one...I hate those block bridges with spaces in between them that you either have to sprint over or but meticulous about jumping from part to part. And then the beat blocks in the middle are just hard to get the rhythm of.
That's implying that Nintendo actually develop there characters on daily bases. Why should Rosalina be singled out?
I caved in and bought Yoshi's New Island. I'm four levels in, and, I dunno, it feels kinda weird... there's a delay in pressing the button to ready an egg and actually being ready to shoot (which is the fault of the comparatively lengthy animation of Yoshi grabbing an egg trailing behind him).
The music isn't anything special at the moment (the "Level Clear!"-theme is horrible, though). At least the main "Underground" and "Fortress"-themes are kinda nice, I guess.
Rosalina's cool. Nice backstory and aesthetics. More importantly, she represents that Nintendo is still bringing in new characters and isn't just catering to old nostalgia.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Mostly because she had an interesting backstory (and, arguably, personality) to begin with, which is something special in the world of Mario.
Again, I don't mind her appearing left and right regardless.
Would you recommend it as a good platforming fix (like NSMB 2)? Not a quality game, just a snack to tide you over.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaPlaying SMBX and just decided to godmode my way through The Dungeon of Inappropriate Phrases.
Why oh why did Redigit think that level was a good idea?
Yeah...when the spinoffs include "characters" like Koopa Troopa, Baby Daisy, Metal Mario, and Toadette, I can't complain about them adding in some more actual distinct characters. If anything I'd like to see them use more of those, like Pauline, or some Wario Ware and/or Wario Land characters (hey, they brought in Funky Kong, so it seems possible), or even some of the RPG characters.

Welcome to th:|Miyamato is hell bent on making Mario games simple in story. Just look what he did with Paper Mario Sticker Star and Super Mario Galaxy 2 he even stated he felt the first Galaxy had too much story.
Any chance of that happening is very slim, unfortunately.
In all fairness, Metal Mario's an immigrant from Super Smash Bros..
Gameplay before story is a good game philosophy, but throwing the story out the window isn't. It's like having a cake without icing, or something. Also, I realized I speak in similes a lot.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaRosalina's backstory seems almost totally opposite to her character.
In her storybook her mother dies and she has only Lumas for comfort? That's fine, but now she seems so happy and well-adjusted, even as she reads her own story.
That's because that probably happened a long time ago and she has since moved past it and is fine with bringing it up.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Since Galaxy 2 is just an abridged retelling of Galaxy 1, it wasn't going to have much story to begin with.
She's "Many" years older now, she has moved on.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Miyamoto thought it had... too... much story?...
...Okay, okay, I'm sorry, but I'm just... My head's kind of spinning right now. I had to reread that to make sure I saw it right. The story is what set Mario Galaxy apart — other than that it's just 64 In Space.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerThere's more that set it apart! Like the linearity of levels.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaMiyamato referring to the Storybook, which is even optional to look at it.
There's a reason why Galaxy 2 story is handle much more simple than the original.

The only thing that I would have changed in the storybook is added a chapter select.
Removing optional things like that just to "streamline" is just silly.
Wouldn't surprise me if it was just removed for an ego boost, personally.

It was suppose to be DLC...but it had to be a retail game, so they did a retelling type of story...instantly being simpler concept.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Add Miyamoto believing in the original having too much story in that pile.
Edit: Also the only Green Stars I'm missing is from World S. Almost there I can taste it

Nowhere was it said that Miyamoto had a problem with the optional storybook, specifically.
And I think people really overstate Miyamoto's control of Sticker Star. The stickers, the lack of partners, the un-RPG-like structure, the minimal cast, that was all Intelligent Systems.
Welcome to th:|Miyamoto limited them to only the Mario cast...they only made 1.
He thought it was "too complex" which doesn't really apply to the story you could gather from Galaxy.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Yoshi's New Island's music is a little annoying. :/ All those squeaky noises don't really sound much like music.
Yes, but even if you assume that means they couldn't use the casts of DK, Wario, or the previous RPG's, there are still plenty of characters they could have used, like the Koopalings, Yoshi, Rosalina, Waluigi, Daisy, Toadsworth, heck, they could have used Wart as the villain. They just didn't give it any thought, apparently.

Welcome to th:|I beat Super Mario Land 2 for the first time in my life! It was fun :D I lost 10 lives in Wario's castle, but I finally made it!
The best part was when I started to muscle-memorize the layout and timed my opening jumps perfectly, when back when I first started I'd have to pause and take it slow. I lost the bunny hood but managed to do the skull blocks without it, with a controller that had a sticky left button!
The game it one year older than I am. I feel accomplished.
The Protomen enhanced my life.
Some places seem reasonable. Rosalina debuted in Super Mario Galaxy, so she could reasonably be in the second game.
Mario Kart uses Mario characters all the time, and Rosalina makes a nice new addition.
Super Smash Bros uses popular characters, and Rosalina's newly popular.
Anything else that she's not a main part of? She may not need...it might be cool to see her in Super Mario Galaxy 3 though if there is one.
