At least Reggie is seeing why (or at least part of why) the Wii U wasn't a big commercial success.
Also, there is a bit of a discussion in the comments about if certain games (like Galaxy and Prime 3) were "ruined" by motion controls.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Galaxy was fine. Prime 3 just felt like a drop in quality compared to 1 and 2 in general. Also, I hate how the game industry has pretty much become Hollywood 2.0 outside of Nintendo and Indies. Overly Americanized, realistic and serious, trying constantly to be "cinematic", if a game doesn't sell millions the company goes bankrupt and/or the franchise is cancelled unless it is a Indie, only a few franchises get any attention and most games just copy them, and most of the major gaming companies are even based in California {Activision, EA, Sony as of earlier this year, etc.).

The first two Primes are actually awesome with motion controls because those work for a First-Person Shooter. Quickly switching weapons and visors could be annoying, but otherwise they're good.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Yeah, I loved Prime 3's controls and prefer them over the ones the first two had. Trilogy giving them Prime 3's controls makes them so much better.

I could never go back to the Gamecube originals. Prime 3's controls were just perfect and they made the first two even better.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! In Yoshi's Wooly World, do I need to get all the collectibles in one go, or can I get everything in separate runs?
Separate runs.
And there's no penalty for using the "see hidden items" badge if you don't feel like manually checking every suspicious nook.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Sweet. One of the reasons I couldn't get into older Yoshi games is that you had to do everything in one run, and that was annoying to do without getting hit. I am liking it a lot thus far.
The only issue I have with Woolly World's scoring system is that, much like New Island, your health is reset to 10 if you die, instead of how much health you had after hitting the checkpoint. It's annoying if you get scratched by a fortress boss and then have to do the whole LEVEL over again instead of just the fight.
But I guess it pushes you to try harder, especially since there's no lives system here. I just wish the levels themselves were harder instead of relying on Continuing is Painful.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I just picked up a Wii U with Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario Maker. I'm already hopelessly addicted to making Mario levels
And by "just" I mean about 24 hours ago, but it feels like much less and I've been playing the console non-stop since then.

Good for you man.
Though, the NX is right around the corner (at least we think it is) so you're a little late.
Still, Mario Kart is a fun game, so enjoy it.
One Strip! One Strip!Oh, Mario Maker. Fun game, when you don't run into bullshit levels. But that's what discussion boards are for!
How is it "late" to pick up a Wii U? We know nothing concrete about codename NX, nor what its launch is going to look like. If anything, this is the perfect time to pick up a Wii U because of the number of quality games out there and with support ramping down it's easy to play catch-up. There's literally nothing to get excited over for NX yet, and it's likely to have the same slump as most consoles at launch.
Well, the NX will have a properly somewhat superior version of Breath of the Wild at launch so there's that. Launching with a Zelda game is always a good thing.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Just about anyone would have discouraged someone from getting a Wii U in 2016, and yet, Super Mario Maker is the most I've been hooked on a game since The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth came out in late 2014. I'm having lots of fun making and playing levels, just as long as I stay away from the 100 Mario Challenge on expert. On top of that, a lot of my frustrations about current gaming are finally coming to a rest.
We are at the point where the Wii U has games. So, still a good time to get it.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Cool. I love Pokemon Snap.
On a seperate note it's really been annoying me recently the arbitrary selection of Nintendo Selects in Europe/Australia/US.
I really want to pick up Oo T 3D and a few of the Mario RPG's but it's such a pain when EB Games still retails Oo T at 60 AUD.
I mean at least I can import from Europe for only 25~ AUD which is nice. I just wish they'd release all of them in all of the regions.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobI feel your pain. I've been really wanting Star Fox 64 3D here in NA but Nintendo of America have been dragging their feet with that release and it's completely OOP here.
And speaking of OOP, I'm surprised Kid Icarus Uprising isn't a Select title anywhere.
Finally got around to getting Mario Kart 8. It's fun. I didn't play the 3DS one, and I wasn't a huge fan of the Wii one, so this is the first time I've played Mario Kart in a while.
I'm starting at 50cc and working my way up as usual. Cleared the first two of the new and redesigned sets of cups so far, and I'll probably do more before the day's over. One of my brothers wants to play too, so it's good to know you can still unlock things in multiplayer. Actually, if coins are what get you kart parts, and multiplayer adds up all the players' coins, that would mean you get parts faster with more people, right? That's kinda cool.
Super Mario 64 DS hit the NA Wii U VC today.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I'd ask why the DS remake is on the same VC as the original, but then I remembered that the remake has 3 extra characters.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! The remake also has a ton of other changes and additions.

I finally decided to make the jump and transfer my Wii data to my Wii U. Not like I'm getting an 8GB one anytime soon anyhow. With that, my Wii (whose internal clock gave out) is put to rest and my Gamecube is back out alongside my Wii U.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your grief
