The Digital Event won't have Chibi-Robo, Bravely Second, or Smash DLC. All perfect E3 filler. What else could they be planning if they're willing to blow out so much before the big event?

You can't be sure they have ANYTHING. Although it's possible they're planning something big, there's always the chance that there's going to be a disappointing E3.

CR and BS got revealed in the micro-Direct and don't need the big stage anymore. And there's now a Smash event before the DE. Maybe we'll still get a new character at the DE (doubt it personally), but they're clearly not going to waste time on Smash and have it take over everything like it did last year.

@Sterok: I feel like that Micro Direct was just stage-clearing. None of those games except for maybe Bravely Second (Ugh, who writes these names) would really sell on the E3 stage.

That said, on the Penny Arcade forums, there is a person there who actually IS employed by Nintendo (as in, we have verified that he does. He was a tester and now he does something else), and he's pretty excited. So who knows, really.

I agree that Chibi-Robo doesn't belong at E3 (though who knows how Nintendo treats amiibo announcements), but Bravely localization and Smash anything could easily take up time, and no one would bat an eye.

I'm glad there won't be much/any Smash at the Digital Event. I love it, but I want Nintendo to stop leaning on it so much and move on to new things. I don't want Smash DLC to take over every Direct for the next year.

Well, Sakurai will be doing some sort of presentation on the 14th about Smash, so that's about it. I think the main Direct is going to be their 2015-16 slate.

I wish the Wii U was more popular than it is. Besides myself I only know of one person who has one, and one who plans on getting one.

As long as Nintendo keeps the Robot Chicken things they'll probably be the most entertaining presentation even if the games aren't as exciting.

Retro Studios most likely to have an E3 presence.

Ooh, excellent. Between them and Platinum Games, this is shaping up to be a good E3 for Nintendo.

I'm hoping that if they are there, they show off a new Metroid game.

I personally hope Retro is working on a new IP.

Define "new". Because an IP other than Metroid or Donkey Kong would be nice, but I don't want them to work on something brand new. Because Retro's entire shtick is revitalizing IP in stasis.

It's sorta in their name.
