I did not see that coming. Luigi's Mansion is one of my favorite games, but I didn't think it was popular enough to get a sequel. But Christ.

PORTABLE. MULTIPLE MANSIONS. MY BODY WAS NOT READY.

Miyamoto reported something a while back about him considering a "ghost story" on the 3DS. This must've been it. Anyway, loved the first title, and it's on the 3DS now! WOO!

Well, with multiple mansions, length won't be a big issue... I hope.

I'm keeping a close eye on this one.

Ah, yes. Luigis Mansion. It was my first game on the Gamecube. I remember having a blast playing it, but feeling disappointed when I finished it the very next day.

Still, the concept in itself was awesome. I sure hope they bring back the portrait ghosts. Well, not the ones we have already seen in the first game, but more like 'boss ghosts with unique appearance and history'. They really added to the game.

I loved the original Luigi's Mansion, and I totally wasn't expecting Nintendo to make a sequel (and for the Nintendo 3 DS to boot). I can't wait! grin

Well, there have been rumours since before the launch of the 3DS.

Yeah, I always felt Luigi's Mansion was so far removed from a platform game it should have been under a different name, even in Sun Shine Mario could still jump.

Not that is was a bad game, but I think it would be better off with new characters. It felt like a Dolled-Up Installment.

Oh man, I remember Luigi's Mansion. I remember starting up my Game Cube one day and seeing the graphics. I didn't think they would get any better than that at the time. I had a blast with it.

[up][up][up] That trope does not mean what you think it means.

I didn't get through this game too fast at all. One, I was a perfectionist about portrait ghosts. Two, I never felt right playing it in the daytime, so I saved it for nights.

After 10 years after the first one is released, the sequel finally happens. It looks like that they are really making sure its good with this one. Now I am going to have to get myself a 3ds now that this is announced. Thanks for surprising me Nintendo!

Oh I know exactly what it means. If you took that Mario characters out of Luigi Mansion, it wouldn't look like a Mario game. If you took the Mario characters out of Paper Mario, you'd still draw parallels to Super Mario bros. It feels like Luigi Mansion could have been a completely unrelated game but they stuck Luigi and boos in it.

Looks like I need to go play Luigi's Mansion.

Also, anyone else think this should be called Luigi's Mansions?

Belief or disbelief rests with you.
