Anyone else playing/played this? I never thought I'd find a VN as emotionally gripping as Clannad...

1/6 ends and I'm already too emotionally drained to attempt another end in the same night.

Kana Imouto is probably my favorite VN I've played.

After I read it, I was drained in a different way.

jk, ero scenes are dull after you've seen dozens and dozens of them

I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.

It's from the same guy who did Family Project, right? Yeah, I should read this some day.

Wait, this guy also did Yume Miru Kusuri? No wonder the narration felt so familiar..

Ah, yes, that one too. The man wrote a lot of good stuff.

It almost feels wasted on the genre, really.

I played it through once. It was far too tragic for words. I deleted it after only one playthrough.

^^ Don't say that! It makes the genre acceptable. >___>

I find little acceptable in random porn in my heartwarming plot, but I think this discussion has been had before, so I'll shut up now.

It makes it so I can't really recommend it to my friends who I think would like it. :(

That, and I hate having to carefully hide things that I really like as if it were an ordinary Porn Stash in case one of my family members or friends drop by. I like having the stuff that I like proudly on display.

I have the same problem with Fate Stay Night.

I think it's friggin awesome, but I have to hide it and not show everyone because it has porn.

Wow, we haven't even filled up the very first page, and the topic has already completely derailed. Well, I guess I'm to blame for that.

I must say I feel some reluctance in ever actually beginning to read Kana Imouto. I mean, I'm quite an emotional person, and I know already what this author's main business is after Yume Miru Kusuri and Family Project. I'm not really feeling like reading something that has a reputation for making you unable to feel happiness for a week after reading.

I have to say that Kana Imouto is also the only piece of fiction I've ever experienced (including books, films, games, etc.) that literally changed some aspect of my outlook on life.

It was my first VN, and I loved every minute of it. I didn't end up doing all the playthroughs, however. I think the ending I got was #4 - "Intelligent" ending 1 or something like that.

Clannad changed my outlook on life. I sure hope this one does the same.

My very first VN was Crescendo. I was able to finish it fairly quickly. My second VN happened to be Kana Imouto. But unlike Crescendo, it took me a while to complete Kana ...

It was definitely an emotional moment the very first time I went through Kana Imouto. My very first attempt resulted in the 5th ending (Intellectual Ending #2). I would say I felt sad and obsessively thinking about Kana for the rest of that week! My second and third attempts resulted in getting the 2nd and the 4th endings, respectively. I paused for a while, then jumped into it again. This time around, I got the 1st and the 6th endings, respectively. It took me a while to finally unlock the 3rd ending. The 3rd ending was frightening as this is the only ending in which the usually calm Taka shows a very different side. Take becomes delusional and searches for Kana, but she is gone! I think the 3rd and the 6th endings are the best. Yumi interacts with Taka considerably more in #3 and #6 endings compared to other endings.
