I don't think they should change things like character races in a reboot, which sends the audience back to the beginning while changing the story. That would be fine for an alternate universe, like Nick Fury in Ultimate Marvel.
You guys like Let's Plays? You guys like shameless plugs? Well, come on down!Further word on the Justice League reboot—the first seven characters are yes, five white guys, one white woman and the black guy. But the total membership of the League is fourteen, so there's a little more room for diversity there. (And given the habit DC has of suddenly declaring major characters off limits to team books, we may see more of the back seven than originally planned.)
"So what will they call this one? The really final crisis? "
"Dan's And Geoff's Masturbation To Thier Childchood Silver Age Comics Collections."
"Dan's And Geoff's Masturbation To Thier Childchood Silver Age Comics Collections."
So... freaking... true. Seriously, for the last five years, it's like DC has been trying to bring back more and more of the Silver Age; Superboy, the Legion, Barry Allen, etc. Before we know it, Superman will be pushing chains of planets with his pinky finger again.
(JK on that last statement, but serious about everything else.)

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundI personally have felt for awhile that it could be a good idea for DC to retcon Green Lantern in such a way as to get rid of John Stewart and just make Hal a black man. Same back story, still the ex-USAF Ferris Aircraft test-pilot with the big family, same personality, just give 'im a racelift. That way, one of DC's biggest guns would be an African-American, and Hal would still be Green Lantern.
But... then you'd be making him black just for the sake of making him black. And if he's written the same way, then that means there would be no differentiation from the black and white versions, aside from their race. Story and character-wise, there is absolutely no reason to make Hal black, and he, or any other character, should only get a race-lift if, for whatever reason, there's story possibilities that could come out of the race-lift. But if nothing can come out of it, and the only reason for doing so is to try and appeal to the masses... it just wouldn't feel right that way.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundI'm really not at all happy about any of this. It reeks of regression. I want to see the DCU move forward not fall back to the 70s!
My prediction for the JLA:
Superman Batman Flash Green Lantern Cyborg Wonder Woman Aquaman
Martian Manhunter Hawkwoman Black Lightning Booster Gold Mary Marvel Amazing Man (Maybe?)
Dammit DC when will you learn!
Theres sex and death and human grime in monochrome for one thin dime and at least the trains all run on time but they dont go anywhere.I hope they don't regress with Blue Beetle. Or better yet, have Kord AND Jaime as active heroes.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireThe Jaime Blue Beetle and Kate Kane Batwoman are confirmed as staying in something like their current form.
There's no real reason not to make him black, though.

Rawr!Because he has been white for the past 40 plus years. That's why.
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoThe problem with reverting Barbara Gordon isn't that it gets rid of disabled representation. Its that it takes a character who has established a unique, and direly important, niche, and turns them into. . . yet another non-powered cape. Barbara Gordon has done vastly more for the setting, and indeed has saved the world several times, by being Oracle, than she ever could have dreamed of doing as Batgirl.
And then you have Cassandra Cain, who had a nice backstory, interesting characterization, and good character growth. And she's probably doomed, for the crime of being a recent character.
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comI'm hoping the batgirl series is a separate thing from the rest of the comics, set before The Killing Joke.

"You can reply to this Message!"Sometimes,I wonder if all those people who want Babara Gordon back as Batgirl actually ever read one of her stories. Her whole characterization comes from the time after she became Orcale, before that that, she was downright forgettable.
What about the TAS?
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundWe are talking about comic continuity.
Batgirl: Year One, melonfarmer.
Great, you mentioned the one good story, which, for your information, was written over a decade after she became Oracle.
Every bit of character development she got came after she became Oracle. Granted, most of this is due to the sexism in comics while she was Batgirl, but that doesn't change that she didn't do much in role and it would be a shame to reduce her back to just the Distaff Counterpart to Batman, when she is so much more interesting as a more independent figure.

Ok, I know it was awhile ago, but the notion of Supes breaking up with Lois and hooking up with Wondy (and that Alex Ross has something to do with it, which surprises me not at all) pisses me off to no end. Anyone who doesn't realize what a bad idea that is should read this.
I'll turn your neocortex into a flowerpot! You assume Barbara Gordon as Batgirl will automatically mean Batgirl as written pre-Killing Joke. I came to love Batgirl through Year One, The Batman, the DCAU, and etc., and find the whole myth that Oracle is the "interesting" side of her sickening. She's just the victimized side of a character that makes me sick to read.
Logically, there shouldn't be any disabled characters in superhero comics, but you have a point. This shouldn't really be an issue if they're giving characters new designs, though. There's no reason why they can't just change the races of characters.
