It was and most people brushed it off because he didn't really seem to get the severity of his statements. I mean, it's not just the Destiny shit. He's been open with some pretty blatantly sexist and imperialist shit for a while now.

Well, if a celebrity you hated did something like this instead, you'd be relieved it didn't happen to someone you care about instead too. Especially if said celebrity is a hypocritical, money-whoring hack.

I know barely anything about Angry Joe and I'm not looking to dredge up any drama, my point is that wishing that Joe was caught saying some racist and sexist shit like Jon Tron is kind of, for lack of a better word, not good.

Stuff I've seen him say on twitter seems mostly out of ignorance of stuff contradicting it rather than outright malice. One statistic I remember him citing it seemed like he had just read the headline, and not the part where they said it was bunk, because he was reacting to people tweeting at him and was just searching for w/e at the time was my impression. But the reaction to him was always "you're an awful person", not "no that's wrong, and here's where it shows you're wrong".

He outright stated that he thought colonialism wasn't a bad thing. I think I can find it safe to say that's flat out awful.

Since I dont really watch Game Grumps, can someone tell me what Jon said there that foreshadowed this shit show? I keep hearing that he said something, but no one ever says what, and I don't think I can watch a million hours of LPs to find it for myself.

Also, damn, that "explanation" video made things even worse. I mean, I can sort of buy that he's coming from a place of obstinacy and not malice, but that's still pretty fuckin' racist and if he can't be bothered to educate himself then I don't think he's worth my time.

That's something he said that confuses the hell out of me for sure, because it doesn't make sense in the context of the rest of the things he was saying. At the time he was talking about immigration and countries defending their "sovereignty". Logic would dictate colonization harms that, and it's typically compared with mass immigration as something negative. So I don't know what the hell he was saying.

The only way I can make sense of it in the context of that thread is if he was being flippant and defensive, and just saying anything that popped into his head to argue back.

Look, the problem is that instead of trying to learn or educate himself, Jon just digs himself in deeper and makes himself look even worse by saying increasingly idiotic statements of flat out racist and sexist qualities. That this keeps happening makes me angry enough to write him off as being kind of a dick.

I know there's a moment in the Joe & Mac LP when suddenly a bunch of elephant trumpets censor out something Jon said. And after the trumpets, Arin says something like "Jesus, man" in a surprisingly sober tone. I can't help wondering what Jon said. I hear talk it was a rape joke.

I would rather avoid rumor here, but to my knowledge they didn't have a falling out, did they? There was some implied bad blood or something but Jon left due to some impromptu shit and wound up making up with Arin anyways at a con and in the last Starcade video.

Jon's behavior at times before all this was questionable in a Harsher in Hindsight kind of way mainly on the Game Grumps show.

I do know he had a brief falling out with Peanut Butter Gamer which is a phenomenal feat btw as he was one of the youtubers that John inspired I believe (or atleast worked together with). I think Caddicarus, another popular youtuber he inspired, would also would be pretty upset with him behind the scenes considering he has a girlfriend with two little girls and he clearly judging by his own reviews does not hold alt-right views or jokes.
