Huh? Redirects are free just add the shortened one.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!No, I mean I want to get rid of the main title. The Redirect used to be the main and should still be the main title. If it was too long then just shorten it, but Secret Mutant Hero Team implies thing that the trope isn't about, hence the wrong examples.
We discussed it on Image Picking

Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackIs there a reason you didn't tag the page?
Fight smart, not fair. What do you mean tag the page?
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackIt's tagged now. If you want tropers who see the page to comment, you have to tag the page.
Fight smart, not fair.I have to admit, the current title makes me think more of X Men than of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Yeah, I agree that this was a bad rename. The previous trope name, while not the easiest to remember, was far more indicative of what the trope is.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWe could probably drop "robots" from it.
Fight smart, not fair.Teenage Mutated Samurai Wombats? Crowner then? Any other suggested names?
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackIf that doesn't make people think Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, nothing will.

Wizard Needs Food BadlyFrom the description, there's nothing that technically or specifically excludes X-Men type examples. Just sayin'.
It essentially describes a trope that was hot in the late 80's and early 90's about non-human heroes (not necessarily mutated as seen on Biker Mice From Mars, and not necessarily anthropomorphic as seen on Toxic Crusaders, but that's the general consensus) that were cashing in on the fad done by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They usually have a human sidekick. So yeah, X Men doesn't count.
We need a rename.

So like a Fountain of Expies subtrope for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Cuz in that case, sure, I'd be all for keeping TMNT as the Trope Namer...I mean, that makes sense, right?
Rhymes with "Protracted."Add your names to the crowner
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackWait, shouldn't we do a rename or not crowner?
Fight smart, not fair.I added that as choice, sorry.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackNo, the standard procedure is to start with a single-proposition "rename or not?" crowner, and to do the new name crowner after getting consensus to rename.
Fine, I can ask the mods about changing the crowner. The old name is losing but
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackWell, since @Meta Four is here, you can ask him/her. Sorry, I don't talk with you as much as Maddie or Fighteer or Bobby.
Fight smart, not fair.I made the single-prop crowner and hooked it. Someone else can edit the arguments for and against section.
And for future reference, I'm a dude.
EDIT: Very interesting. In spite of only being wicked six times, Radioactive Teenage Samurai Robot Wombats has brought more than twice as many people to the wiki as the main name has.

Can I just say that I think if there's a problem with the old name (and I don't know if there's actually a problem, other than people not wanting to type out the full thing on the wiki) it's probably the word "Radioactive"? Strip it out and you get Teenage Samurai Robot Wombats which is snappy enough and fits the trope.
Although... the redirect has an INSANE number of inbound links. How the hell did this get renamed?
I'm actually in favor of the old name being restored as it is already, now. It looks like the namechange was railroaded in on a trope that was working just damn fine. And that bugs the -hell- out of me.
On the 'argument against renaming' with it having more wicks... wouldn't that just be from the old namechange? That doesn't seem like a valid reason not to rename.

Want to rename a trope? Step one: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.Railroaded? No, I'm pretty sure I remember there being pretty decent consensus for the name change at the time (though I don't think our current rename procedure had been hammered out back then). I think this is just the wiki zeitgeist changing since the rename.
Here's why Renamed Tropes said the name was changed: Secret Mutant Hero Team was once Radioactive Teenage Samurai Robot Wombats. It was renamed to be more comprehensible (though the new name is still a reference) and because it was impossible to remember what order the old name was written in.
Yeah, that works against the wick number.
The page should have just got easier redirects, but oh well, we're setting it right.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackIncidentally, I think Teenage Robot Samurai Wombats is better than Teenage Samurai Robot Wombats because it follows the TMNT pattern of "Teenage Adjective Profession Race", so it should be easier to remember. Hopefully. Or just Teenage Mutant Samurai Wombats.
Rhymes with "Protracted."
Crown Description:
Remember when Radioactive Teenage Samurai Robot Wombats wasn't the redirect? That overly long name described what this trope is really about.
X-men type examples sometimes creep there way onto the page but from the title, can you blame them? This is specifically about works that use a variation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle formula, so just shorten the redirect of Teenage Mutated Samurai Wombats or such, word for word so people will get the connection to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and make that the page's main name.
