Well, ain't that convenient then
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. That is exactly why I still buy CDs. I like having something tangible, reading the liner notes, etc. etc.
On which note, I took my own point about Digitial vs Physical over to the aforementioned thread.
Mostly 0dd1 covered the bases, but that aside I just can't stand reading ebooks at all. I've tried using them before when it's been necessary for my education, and I hated the experience.
If someone got me an eReader for a gift, I'd probably try to find a way to turn it in and use the money for something else.
I've got a thing or two to add, but keeping it to music (and somewhat on topic), I actually think music C Ds are probably the form of physical media I would miss the least if they were completely replaced by digital distribution. I largely agree with most of the points raised here on physical media, with the added hang up of file sizes, that most people only have so much space on their hard drives and not everyone has blazing fast unlimited internet with which to download gigabytes and gigabytes of data, but most music is small enough that that poses less of an issue than it does with movies or games. Also, there's enough legal streaming these days that I can listen to pretty much anything I want as long as I'm on the internet. I probably should get to actually owning Mandatory Fun in some format soon, but for now I've just been listening on Spotify.
And since it had to be done...
We can't agree on whether it's better to listen to our excellent music via an easily carried physical copy or in a digital format on a device that can contain more information than full-fledged computers could a decade ago?
Sounds like we've got First World Problems.
(Five videos with Al in them, a new record!)
Nice segue!
I got a good laugh out of that video. Only two more to go though... I wonder if Inactive will get one. Honestly as a parody, it's probably one of the weaker tracks on the album, but a particularly good video might save it for me.
I'm hoping for the polka medley and My Own Eyes.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?Kinda wish Kristen Schaal's pink fluffy boots were actually seen in the video - they're the main thing that brought her outfit into truly "tacky" territory.
I was at a Newbury Comics note where they always have the top 20 best-selling cd's on display, and Mandatory Fun was number one, which I found sorta neat.
Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage. You mean besides the shirt with the pink handprints over her breasts?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Since no one's posted it yet, the video for Lame Claim to Fame.

I think this is my favorite of the videos so far. The scrapbook animation style is fun, and there might be even more Freeze-Frame Bonus bits than "Word Crimes", a lot of them self-references.
Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage.I was hoping he'd do one for that song. It's hilarious.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Aside from the rather mediocre one for Sports Song, all of the videos for this album so far have ranged from good to brilliant in quality. I only regret four of the songs are going to be left out.
"I regret nothing!"
Sorry.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"So it was just pointed out to me last night that Trogdor the Burninator was in the Word Crimes video.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?"Mission Statement" is the last video, featured on the Wall Street Journal of all places.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Didn't know there was a thread for Al! I love him. :'D my favorite songs are Word Crimes, Polka Face, Perform This Way, White & Nerdy, and Foil.
ppppppppfeiufiofuiorjfadkfbnjkdflaosigjbkghuiafjkldjnbaghkdBonus trivia pointed out on Wikipedia: "Word Crimes" is #39 on the Hot 100 at the moment, making it Weird Al's fourth top 40 hit... and making him the third artist in history to have a top 40 hit in four different decades in the US. (The other two are Michael Jackson and Madonna.)
Well, then, congrats to him!
ppppppppfeiufiofuiorjfadkfbnjkdflaosigjbkghuiafjkldjnbaghkdAs a longtime Al fan, this huge success has understandably made me very happy.
@0dd1: No need, it already waits for you.
