If we're talking about black guys from SNK's other games, than there was also Bob Wilson from Fatal Fury, (which is also where Duck King originally hails from,) along with Kushnood from Mark of the Wolves, both of which are pretty cool and badass. (Especially Kushnood.) The closest Samurai Shodown ever had to a black guy though is Sanjuro, and aside from the fact that he may just be a really dark-skinned Asian, the less said about him the better. And both Last Blade and Savage Reign/Kizuna Encounter are whiter than white bread. The only other SNK black guys I can think of are Rob Python from the supposed Holy Grail that is Buriki One, (who I don't know much about,) and Mudman from World Heroes which was still a second party title. (And he's pretty darn awesome in his own right.) And outside of wrestling games like 3 Count Bout, I think that covers it.
What about Mina from Samurai shodown? You could theorize her skin is legit dark and not just tanned.
Maybe, but it's still a big maybe, and she's still from Japan as far as we know.
what the heck
not every single dark skinned person on the planet is descended from Africa
Yeah I notice the gaming communitty is TERRIBLE when it comes to distinguishing black characters.
Dudley is actually based off some black English boxer guy so he very well could be black, but saying "herp derp he's english so not black" is absolutely stupid. There's black people in England guys, I can see the he's Indian argument too, as he sort of looks it but he's definitely not just a white dude(which I;ve seriously seen some people argue lol) .
East Asia in general are pretty bad in their " beauty" standards especially in regard to ethnic features, which any younger east asian from those countries can probably(if reluctantly) tell you. It's especially bad with older generations and is partly a reason why if you do see an Asian person with another person they're likely white, and even then it's not looked at all that fondly. Japan isn't even as bad compared to S. Korea or China.
On one hand, you gotta respect those who reject such viewpoints that much more. So when you do have artist, people, and such who do it does feel pretty good.
So? You don't have to be from Africa to be black. There's plenty of black people in places like South and Central America too you know.
One thing SNK has pretty much always been better than their contemporaries at is acknowledging that Korea exists, at least.
I sure said that!Hashil is saying that dark skin =/= black just like how fair skin=/= white.
I know some countries(latin ones for example) kind of go by that but it's still incorrect in terms of actual ancestry.
There are dark skinned people in say India and around there who are not of African descent
Aboriginal Austrailians too, even if they're usually called black are only so superficially and not really related to Africans. In fact I believe much of Oceania''s darker skinned population is this way, though I could be wrong and would have to look it up.
Who is your favorite SNK boss? Mine are Rugal/Omega Rugal and Krizalid.
You gotta start somewhere.XI's Magaki
He's got bullet hell, he's got pink projectiles, he's got psychedelic visuals, he's barely cheesable, but not 100% success rate so I can still feel accomplished when I win, unlike 100% sure win fights like Orochi and 2k's Clone Zero.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Mine would be Geese, Krauser, and White from Fatal Fury, Mizuki and Zankuro from Samurai Shodown, Goenitz and the Orochi Newface Team from King of Fighters, and Neo Dio and Zeus from World Heroes. (Say what you will about World Heroes, but it still had some pretty kickarse character designs.)
It'd be pretty nifty if Ryoko could make an entry in KoF, if we're talking World Heroes.
Though with the Otherworld Team I guess chronological consistency is no longer a requirement.

I sure said that! What would really be kickarse is if they made a whole World Heroes team. They'd probably just go the safe route and do 'Hanzo, Fuuma, and Mudman' or something like that, but I'd really like to see some of the more obscure and underappreciated characters get a shot, like Erik, Brocken, Captain Kidd, or even Ryoko. Of course, that's even assuming we'll ever get a World Heroes team, but if they can add in Nakoruru and three characters from freaking Pachinko slot games, (this includes Alice by the way,) than they can do just about anything else at this point if they really wanted to.
Official video: Kyo's classic costume as DLC
Not sure why, but this looks even worse to me than the new XIV costume, it really doesn't translate well into 3D...

There's a problem with the Youtube link; I can't view anything.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I'd argue everyone made the jump more or less okay- Not necessarily great, but okay- But Kyo does just look kinda odd no matter what.
I sure said that!Yeah that's the thing which bugs me, having gotten past the initial phase of acceptance, every other character looks fine now in 3D, but I just can't get used to Kyo's new appearance no matter what.
My main problem/pet peeve with 3D Kyo is his waist. For some reason, it feels too narrow like he has broken his lower ribs (or he has less ribs than the average human). The other guys are fine. It's just Kyo.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Im really amazed at how far this has come since the first trailer. The animation still looks a little stop and go, but its above and beyond better than what they showed us at first.
I mean, just compare Kyo and Polneraff in this video to their reveals. Its s world of difference.

The models still look a bit weird if you ask me.
Not unforgivably so, but still...
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Why is it that SNK ditched Maximum Impact's fully-3D movement range? Sticking with a 2-dimensional range of movement seems inexplicably anachronistic for a modern fighting game to me.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Everyone that played Maximum Impact didn't like from what I remember.
You gotta start somewhere.
And apparently Japan's beauty standards have white > black for some reason or another. Yeah Japan's...like that.
Mickey Rogers from AOF 1 and 2 was also a guy as well and there was Michael Max I guess?
