[up] Makes sense, especially since those types of characters generally come right out and say that they have no biological sex/gender/whatever the hell it would be for robots.

Anyone planning on doing anything with this? It's been sitting for a while. Do we have a decent consensus to do something?

Yeah, supermajority says rename. On to the alt names crowner, then, I guess.

I added some more name suggestions from the thread so far.

Too broad. Is that a wing or a flipper? That sounds like it could be covered under those names.

I suppose. Then pretty much all the proposed titles work but none really stands out as particularly good.

I don't like Sexless. That makes me think of people who just don't have sex. It's part the whole sexless romance thing.

Failed to notice that one. Yeah, that's no good. Even Asexual would be better and that means at least two other different things.

No Biological Sex seems to be the most clear of the rename suggestions while No Physical Gender has the same problem of being self-contradictory, since gender by definition is not physical.

Gah, I hate the English language sometimes.

Androgynous Person (or a variation of it) is the best term I can find, since "androgynous" is a person who has no sex, or has both sexes.

EDIT: That Other Wiki's page on androgyny/no gender. Should help. :)

"Androgynous" tends to be used about people whose gender is hard to tell from their general looks, though.

Yes, and Androgyny doesn't mean no sex. It means that they're in-between genders. It's not the right term for this.

No Gender's edited description was copied and pasted onto a new No Biological Sex page. Its old Image Links page is on the cutlist as No Biological Sex now has its own. I sent a report to move the old discussion found here as well. There are also notes about the change on the Renamed Tropes page and in the Renamed Tropes thread.

The wicks are fixed save for a few artifact ones and one on a locked page (TV Tropes The TV Show). I tried to adjust language that used the word "genderless" to "sexless" where appropriate, but in circumstances where the word "gender" is used in the work itself as a synonym for sex *

, I kept it. I may have made some mistakes there though, so feel free to check my work.

No Gender is currently a redirect for No Biological Sex. I think it might be worth cutting the redirect because of the confusion it might create. If someone wants to perform a Trope Transplant and would like to make a trope about No Gender, feel free to use that trope name though.
