It has a decent write up and name, but it has no real wiki penetration, like at all. It also seems to have issues with being borderline People Sit On Chairs. I can think of a trope that would be similar, namely how every piece of technology is worth billions of dollars in Hollywood.

Yeah I'm been trying to get more examples thats plot-specific, but ykttw of this didn't go very well. I hoped Wiki Magic would happen but apparently not.

Feel free to help figure how to make this into more functional trope.

Indeed.

I knew the expense become plot fairly often, so I created this trope. I had set good limitations to prevent People Sit On Chair examples.

I finally found another example and are adding it now.

You know you're supposed to cross wick it right? All the examples you've got on the page should have a paired entry on the trope page. That's why it's got a measely one wick. From an index.

Okay, couple of other things, link the work, even if it doesn't exist. Hopefully someone will write the page after seeing the redlink. Also, make sure the work is properly linked and named, rather than just potholed to or something. There's no "Cartoon Books" namespace, it's Comic Books. You may want to consider a re-YKTTW and just launch to this page.

Okay added cross-wicks where I can, fixed it a bit. how do it stand now?

Doing better, it's not got five wicks. My instinct is still to re-YKTTW it to see if it can gather more examples.

How do re-ykttwing it work? Do I delete current article or just make new ykttw with current article?

I now fixed ...

, and will work on others.

No, since this page is in a state I would consider acceptable for the wiki (some people launch when they've got three sentences and one example, those get cut and re-YKTTW) so I'd just start a new YKTTW for it and launch it to New Tech Is Not Cheap when you get more examples. It might help flesh out the description a bit as well.

Just finished Brass Balls and Plot Convenient Cracking.

I tried to ask for help on better writeups on all tropes I made, but never happened. :(

I'll relaunch a ykttw once I'm done with crosswicking and editing.

Whew all done with Third-Person Flashback. I'll launch new ykttw for New Tech Is Not Cheap later.

Trope-wise it would be about limiting cutting-edge stuff simply because of limited resources and can eventually become more accessible — as opposed to more contrived things like Super Prototype or being secret, and so on.

If this is resolved, we can lock this thread. It's not a personal to do list.
