Wait, is Maxi coming back in future installments or not? One post said he isn't and a later post said he is. Which is it? (Hope he sticks around. His Funny Bruce Lee Noises and playstyle are just awesome.)
What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King SageHow would any of us know?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyClose. Namco commissioned the toy deal, and Necrid and Spawn's inclusions were actually a prerequisite set by MacFarlane in exchange, not a bonus.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerThat's not Executive Meddling, that's smart contracting. I really dislike the derogatory overuse of that trope.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI wasn't using it as a bad thing there.
I actually liked Necrid, for one thing.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerAh, I see I see.
Well, I think it worked out, since...well, Necrid may be kinda crummy as a fighter, but as a character, I like his design and his story isn't unworkable with what we know.
Also, hey, Spawn.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Why do I get the feeling that if I went out and bought SCV tomorrow, Namco would suddenly announce SCVI that evening?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Even if that did happen, I wouldn't worry too much. I bought SCIII long after SCIV was out, and I didn't regret it. I still think it's the best entry in the series.
If you bought V now, you'll still have a lot to do while waiting for VI, especially if you're either a competitive player or someone who easily succumbs to Alt Itis. (Like I said, best character-making engine in any game period.)
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerWell yeah, but almost everyone thinks II or III was the best in the series.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyThey want to spite you Unknown, spite you good. Or maybe you've got a knack for timing.
for a new game.
Remake of III with II's gameplay. Thoughts?
Yeah, I want to get SCV, but know the moment I do SCVI will be announced.
I don't have system to play them on, though. Hopefully it would get a Wii U release given their recent cooperation with Nintendo.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Eh, I hope not. I want to see what the Soul Calibur series can do with the new console's hardware, being held back as little as possible by parity.
this place needs me hereGood point. The thought of a next-gen (current-gen?) Soul Calibur is a tantalising one. My problem is that I've been playing a lot of Soul Calibur II. :X
How much power does SC need?
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Seriously, I haven't got a clue.

SC V looks spectacular, and the Wii U is at least stronger than the systems it was released on, so I don't know how much more power you'd really need and if it would be enough to cause parity issues.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! This will never not be hilarious.
I think he meant about a game VI.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyThat's what I'm talking about. I don't know how much more processing power it'd need compared to SCV unless they add in, like, 100-person battles or something.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! You'd be surprised. Soul Calibur V looks great, but it could look better.
this place needs me hereI mostly play SC for the CAS mode and single player modes with said CAS characters (III's in particular was great), so I really miss III and it's more interesting and unique CAS fighting styles. Any new game needs to bring those back pronto.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Well, I still would prefer I can play it when it comes out.
I know it's exceedingly unlikely though.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! So I totally forgot that Soul Calibur V had a save screenshot thing in Ca S on the PS 3. Is that crowner still going?
this place needs me hereNo, there was general thread apathy to it.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyWell I guess I could still share, after putting it off for so long.
this place needs me here
I did too.
