^ Seconding wholeheartedly, although I've only played Earthworm Jim 2 of the two. Notice a trend with the game I've mentioned in my first post? :p
"Your kindness gives me the presentiment I can be reborn. Now, I want to believe at least in you." - Kaori YaeBelmont Pimp Walk indeed.
True fact: this one inspired the thread in the first place.
Also nthing Metal Slug, Third Strike (the karate girl and Elena have gotta be rotoscoped), Garou, Earthworm Jim, and Ghost Trick.
Tekken's a big one: Capoeira will never look as good in anything else as it does in those games.

Donkey Kong Country Returns. Every character, even the most minor Mooks, has some fantastic character animation. I like how Donkey Kong himself reacts to the environment around him(like telling a bat to go away and do an aside glance at the player). Nobody explicitly talks in the game, but they use body language to "talk."
Cel-shaded animation tends to grab my attention very fast. Especially if its adorable and pretty like Wind Waker! I love you cel-shading...LOVE. Favorite example of it being Wind Waker.
I also love sprites whether they be those hideous 8-bit things from Dragon Quest 1 on the NES or the asskickingly awesome sprites from Valkyrie Profile. Favorite example of this...hmm...Let's go with 8-bit Castlevania. Those games are awesome looking. Although Valkyrie Profile itself deserves special mention...The characters really have a lot of neat little animations.
Also Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time is just fun to look at. God that thing is fun.

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahWhile I'm in favor to just about any graphical or visual style, I do have a soft-spot for cel-shading animation, if it's done in a manner that makes sense in the overall style of the story or gameplay, rather than just being a visual gimmick. Examples: Killer 7, Street Fighter IV, and No More Heroes among others.
I'm also a fan of contemporary 8-bit/16-bit animation styles that pay homage to the style, but with more prowess and detail. Like: Minecraft and the Scott Pilgrim game.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.Wind Waker is indeed amazing looking, but with that game, I think it's more the art style and the implementation of the cel-shading that I find impressive, as opposed to the animation itself.
I mean, there are a lot of games I really like graphically or stylistically, but this specifically asked about animation, which is a different thing in my mind.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaMad World is one of my favorite Celshaded games
Seconding Ghost Trick. The animation is so buttery smooth in that game.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!
I felt that both Earthworm Jim games (Yes, two) had fantastic animation. The exaggerated way Jim runs or plays his accordion cracks me up every time. The ending of the first game was especially nicely done.
