I can agree that Wild Take probably could just fit into different categories of overreactions, but I wonder if it is even a trope. The Take's description says that "[c]ombination of sight gags and reaction shots originally from silent film and vaudeville taken to a predictably ridiculous extreme" and given that it is already a supertrope, it seems to me that Wild Take is just The Take Up To Eleven. Basically, I wonder if Wild Take is just The Same But More.
I could be wrong about that though.

So I don't believe the name needs to be changed. However, Redirects Are A Free Launch if you can come up with something more searchable.
Secondly, what you seem to be suggesting is only mildly related to Wild Take. A wild take is typically about facial reactions. If the eyes bulge out, the jaw drops, etc, then it would be a wild take. But if it's simply jumping into the air, then I would say that's a separate trope altogether. They can be combined, but distinct.
Dividing it up into subtropes would work, although I don't think it is necessary. Everyone knows what a wild take looks like.
The distinction is that a Wild Take is specifically an animated trope. It's The Take with Toon Physics applied. The description may need to be adjusted to clarify that.
I would think that this can also occur in comics (as likely would some other supposedly exclusively Animated Tropes).
Definitely. The point is that it has to utulize toony physics, something that can't be achieved through live action mediums without some serious photo manipulations.
Surprise Jump is now launched.
The trope itself is about a hugely comedic overreaction, but this comes in may flavours some (most) of which are specific, different, and prevalent enough for their own articles. The jumping in terror variant in particular has accrued enough examples in YKKTW and we've picked up some examples that are not present in the main article. If you are looking for a trope on comedy scares, comedic overreactions, or anything of that ilk then the current title doesn't pop up in the site search.
Generally it needs a good overhaul, rename, and perhaps split up into its sub-tropes.
